Fodera anyone?

That looks grim.
2.
It may be worth you posting this in the Washburn owners club forum on TB? TB'ers such as MEKer are very knowledgeable and may be able to help.
Cheers for the heads up Bootsy, I'll give it a whirl.
3. Sand it down, see if there's anything under that!
4. I have an old Washburn AB10 that seems to be different from other ones in that it has a round soundhole, I'm guessing it's an early one but I can't find squat on the internet about it. The Washburn EQ packed up so it's retro-fitted with a Shadow pickup. Here's the only pic I could find (at work atm). Anyone shed any light on it? Cheers!
5. Yeah I'll give you that. A Trace with the preshape engaged is the quintessential slap sound.

Sold

7. I use a 1997 GP12SMX head, Ah300. The thing is a tone monster. Solid state and valve pre-amp blend is a great feature. 2 band compressor is really effective and the amp has more flexibility than any other I've used. It's got a certain fatness and punch to the notes that lightweight class D's (that I've tried) just don't have. It was Stuart Zender that turned me onto Trace. He still has the greatest tone I've ever heard, live especially.
8. FWIW I used to use a Warwick Profet 3.2 through a 410wca cab. Great setup and great quality but my Trace has a better tone and more grunt. You did the right thing
9. I used to love Jamiroquai but after Synkronized the band ceases to exist for me. That marks the point his ego went through the roof. It's quite funny to see how successful they were, that style of music wouldn't even get within a million miles of the charts today (not that the charts mean anything anymore) yet, Stuart Zender made me pick up bass so I'll always have a soft spot for them. I always felt sorry for Nick, such a great bass player and a seemingly top bloke. He was always on a hiding to nothing following Stuart and given that Jay Kay became more controlling and egotistical over the bands songs, I think he did well to last as long as he did.
10. Weight issues aside, Trace stuff is awesome, seeing as yours is a little more modular it shouldn't be too bad to transport about. In terms of power and tone, IMO, nothing touches it (just don't use the graphic preset, it sounds rubbish!) Enjoy!
11. I think you guys are right! Sounds absolutely stonking! I always will associate him with that Yamaha TRB5PII though.
12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM5Yq5NmZnw Always wondered what this is? A Bass Collection of some sort? Whatever it is, it sounds great!
13. Thanks StingrayPete, I have now got that song stuck in my head! "Looks at hiiis waaatch, he's on tiiime yeeeet agaaain"
14. I know the term underrated is thrown about and clichéd but it really does apply to Alex massively. Great Stingray and Precison tones, inventive, melodic basslines. He's a really nice bloke in real life and cool as f*** to boot!
15. Totally agree with you, Alex is one of my fave players, quite a few inventive basslines scattered throughout the Blur back catalogue. Colin Zeal one of my faves. Edit - I also happen to live about 5 miles away from his house. Often thought about asking him to sign my Blur albums but chicken out massively!
16. I love J5. My favourite hip-hop group. Chali 2na has the most distinctive delivery in rap/hip-hop today.
17. I absolutely love Trace. Great amps with a fat, clear tone. Congrats, looks great!
18. AdBlock ftw
19. Just bought a Gallien Krueger MBE410 from Julian. All round top bloke, Held it for me for a couple of weeks and so I went up to Wakefield to collect. Cab is exactly as described. He is very friendly and courteous, Quick replies, no drama or fuss. Good stuff. Cheers Mate!
20. Yep, a Sandberg Basic 4. A fine bass guitar it is too.
21. Any 2nd hand Trace Elliot. Biggest bargains to be had. The AH series show up on here fairly frequently, sweet flexible clear tone and tonnes of headroom on tap and built to last. Can't go wrong.
22. Hoping Trace release a new set of micro heads for the relaunch, with all the classic features and backlit! They would sell an absolute tonne!! Take my money!
23.
I have a Rockbass Streamer and a German stage 1 Streamer and they sound very similar and even more worryingly they both play beautifully. I'd recommend the Rockbass streamers very highly.
Really? My Rockbass Streamer sounds absolutely nothing like a real Streamer.
24. I would add, ALL Warwicks should come with Ovangol or Wenge necks and fretboards with bell brass frets. It's such a massive part of the DNA of Warwick and what gives them that amazing signature tone. If it doesn't have these, it kinda defeats the point of buying a Warwick branded product (tonally at least), In my opinion of course. That sound is so distinctive and I would wager, possibly the main reason people are initially drawn to them (build quality goes without saying, phenomenal)
