  1. Thanks for the tips boys. The battery was the first thing I checked. After a bit more experimentation I think one of the volume pots may be the culprit, so I'll have to get the soldering iron out and start disconnecting and testing things.

  3. Off to see the gig in Liverpool tomorrow night, looking forward to it...
  4. It's on my list to have a listen to. I have her first CD tucked away somewhere.
  5. Could I ask for some advice on fault-finding the signal chain of a c. 1996 Spector bass please? Whilst the bass produces output from both pickups when plugged in, the output for a spector seems very low so I thought I'd work my way through the signal path to try to identify the fault. The treble end of the EQ seems a bit odd too. The pickups are branded SSD and measure c. 37 x 88mm which looks like the EMG-35 size if I'm not mistaken. If I disconnect the pickups what level of DC resistance should I expect to see if they are healthy? Are there any other tests that I could do? Thanks in advance.

    flat market

I think demand is low and the impact is being felt on values. I have actually sold more on ebay than this forum recently and make okay money on the items that had been lingering around the for sale thread having quite a few viewings but no interest / offers. Don't know quite what to make of it really as I, on the whole, buy on BC when possible. I know people are feeling the pinch everywhere but things still move, more so in auction formats where people look for bargains and can get a bit carried away with bidding sometimes. The BIN items are the ones to linger - maybe that is the issue on here, prices still a bit high possibly and less room for manoeuvre due to forum rules.
  13. I went to see JS-T play a couple of years ago, cracking gig. She used Paul Lamb's drummer and Paul himself played bass for her despite him having his own bass player around. Interesting to hear a blues guitarist play bass, actually worked rather well I thought.
  14. Excellent stuff. On of my personal goals this year is to learn Starship Trooper.
  15. Genuinely not bothered, I prefer what works for me.
  16. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll get along to the gig if they are coming up to to anywhere near me. Have most of their output (not the new one yet).
  17. No info at all, but just bought Rio

Nice Warwicks indeed. How's the plan for the fretless coming along?
  19. Yeah, I sympathise too. My Spector Legend 4 is, I think, around BC somewhere and I'd definitely have it back. [attachment=133883:Spector Legend 4 13.jpg]
