  1. For sale is my Harvest leather strap. It's nice and soft and in good condition. Just not being used. £15 posted to mainland UK. I'll sort a pic or two out. NOW SOLD - Many thanks for the interest.
  2. Favourite: The real kick in the guts from bass pedals at live gigs (in case i have the terminology wrong I am referring to the ones that look like organ foot pedals). Least favourite: Probably synthesized hand claps.
  3. For things Fender Japan try this: https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/articles/214343783-How-can-I-find-out-when-my-Japanese-made-instrument-was-manufactured- For the other one not so sure I'm afraid. Maybe the BC hive mind can help.
  4. I went through a variety of sets before I found out that I really liked the D'Addario EXL170BT sets which now inhabit all of my fretted basses. I have tried their new NYXL sets but they don't do it for me in quite the same way so I'm hoping that the EXLs don't get taken out of production any time soon. On the upside pretty inexpensive next to your GF's favourites!
  5. Me neither, but then I'm just paranoid
  6. Is anybody still waiting for their pickups to be returned?
  7. Interesting thread that caused me to revisit my '66P again. When I was looking to buy I deliverately sought out a vintage bass that had been played rather than cherished, so to speak, in the hope that the wear would point to a bass that people had enjoyed. So my bass has scratches, wear marks and pickguard that is slighly warped and a few corrosion marks on the hardware. To my ears, and those of others it sounds great though. The neck has a beautiful feel to and I enjoy playing it as often as possible.

Bought some strings from Mark. Smooth and easy and he went above and beyond to get them in the post to me quickly. Many thanks.
  9. Now sold, thanks very much for the interest.
  10. All this talk of PJs kicked off bad GAS. Ended up getting this yesterday; anybody remember these? Judging by the serial number it's one of the original batch that came over and is in mint condition. Cost me less than £150 and local too, it was clearly meant to be
  11. For sale is a P bass harness I bought from our very own Kiogon a few months for a bass that I sold. I hung onto this for a short while thinking to use it elsewhere but in the end it is surplus to requirements. It was made for a Korean Squier and has the small pots due to the smaller cavity. It will therefore pretty much fit anything. £25 posted by 1st class to the mainland UK. NOW SOLD THANKS
  12. Why did you post that when I was drinking coffee? Will need to get a fresh shirt out now and receive statutory reprimand from SWMBO
  13. The sheer horror of it, I can't image that's legal. I'll turn myself in right away. Officer....
  14. Or I could get some made up as "Indiscreet of Preston" and pass them off as your work?
  15. It might upset some folk though...
  16. Can you make me a dozen of these please as I've some "Fenders" to sell.
  17. Antoria Tele bass that I stupidly sold to a collector/dealer. Beautiful flame on the neck and board too.
  18. Good call sir!
  19. Not sure where you are in the general firmament, but you are very welcome to come and check mine out drlargepants.
  20. I'm not sure, probably I suspect. Certainly not stickers.
  21. How about something like a Sandberg VM? I can cover a lot of ground with this one. A pre-loved one would be within your budget.
  22. Mini owner? By which I mean a proper Mini nit the current abomination.
  23. Stolen from elsewhere, made me laugh....could easily sub Basschat and some bass related topic I fear! How many Facebook group members does it take to change a spark plug? 1 to change the spark plug and to post that spark plug has been changed. 14 to share similar experiences of changing spark plugs and how the spark plug could have been changed differently. 7 to caution about the dangers of changing spark plugs. 27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing spark plugs. 15 know-it-alls who claim *they* were in the industry, and that "spark plug" is an electrical device threaded into the cylinder of an internal-combustion engine to ignite the fuel mixture by producing timed sparks between electrodes. 2 to post that this group is not about spark plugs and to please take this discussion to a spark plug group. 27 to defend the posting to this group saying that we all use spark plugs and therefore the posts *are* relevant to this group. 16 to debate which method of changing spark plugs is superior, where to buy the best spark plugs, what brand of spark plugs work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty. 2 to post URL's where one can see examples of different spark plugs. 12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the spark plug controversy. 4 to suggest that posters request the spark plugs FAQ. 16 to post "F". 44 to ask what is a "F"? 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?" 3 to say "do a Google search on spark plugs before posting questions about spark plugs". 14 to post photos of spark plugs they own. 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again....
  24. To be fair Limelight basses are not advertised as anything other than a Fender replica and have the Limelight brand and serial number on the reverse of the headstock in indelible marker under the lacquer so pretty hard to shift I imagine. I think the difference is intention to decieve; as a Limelight owner I am fully supportive of any action against deliberate fakery.
