Is it possible to get the truss rod out, or at least get access to enough of it so someone could put a die over it to re thread the nut ? If the answer is yes then it would be an easy fix. or...... Maybe this page from Stewart macdonald will help. Good luck i hope it can be fixed by you as you will get a better price for it and it looks to have some nice pups on it.
The image link suggests it's a band called 'Immortal'... this lot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortal_%28band%29 From Wikipedia: "Immortal is a black metal band from Bergen, Norway. The band was formed by Abbath and Demonaz Doom Occulta after their previous band, Amputation, did not take off." ^ I guess someone needed to give them a hand! ... I'll get me coat.
I can just make out the name on the amps at the back. Engl. never heard of them are they any good ? No come to think of it i have heard of them i just know n othing about them. they apparently go well with Marshals acording to this pic
Surely not!!!!???
Is someone gonna tell us who this band is then, or is it a secret ??

As Ringson stated a few posts above. As well as use of passing notes, often using an open note gives one more time to move the hand to the next note, especially if its more than 6 or 7 frets away, the open note can be sounding whilst the hand positions for the next note. I Remember Stuart Hamm showing this in a particularly fine example in one of his regular columns in Bass Guitar magazine. So Hey if Stuart Hamm says its ok, then its fine by me

I remember it on top of the pops in 1973 when i was 8 years old. The ELO version of course has the musical quote from Beethoven's 5th at the begining.
#5 (a good example of a) Westfield P copy. I've not personally played one of these, but knowing my experience with the guitars and from hearing about the basses, if you get a good one, they're brilliant examples of what a cheap bass guitar is capable of. They can punch well above their weight and with some upgrades can be very capable basses. A friend of mine had a Westfield strat a few years ago that was a complete dog, I did a setup on it and was actually shocked at how well it played afterwards. He ended up buying some new pickups for it and gigging it regularly. I've heard similar tales of the basses.
just as a slight tangent to this thread, ive not had enough experience with basses to come up with a list yet really. Though i must agree with what TBM the thread starter says above about the Westfield (B 1000) P bass copies. I have one and it was my first bass brand new from ebay at £79 including postage! So not only did i get it cheap, I am slowly begining to realise what a great bass it is.

Dont know if this Korg MA 30 metronome is any good to you ? You can tap in your own tempo, if the one you need is not one of the functions already on it.

As Jah Wobble said " back in the day, Ampeg was the only game in town. These days there are any number of high quality manufactuirers out there and that revenue going elswhere really seems to have hit Ampeg hard. It hasn't brought out a decent high quality Amp in ten years, that could come anywhere near to competing with their old stuff"

Finally got round to joining a decent forum!

Welcome to the forum, i hope you stay after the kit has been sold, its a great place. -
I'd be just as worried over buying a fake 'vintage' amp, what with all the hullabaloo over a faking factory that supposedly was in action for two decades in the cellar of an (in)famous London music shop, and the looming court case.

Its looking very stylish and retro, I hope you dont have to wait too long for its completion.

Can i ask who is this 'JH' who reports anyone who even vaguely hints at Rickennbacker connections with their 'Fakers, such as mentioning, Lemmy, Paul McCartney etc in their ebay listings? Is this person really that anal ?

Who is next up for this ?
no comments on the seller. I think I messaged him as soon as the thread was opened... no comments really...
I asked a question in the thread and messaged him a week ago and he replied to neither even though he logged in every day .
Weren't they tank tops rather than jumpers?
Nah definately jumpers. I had two. Everyone had them, along with those horrible fishtail Parkers (long before the Mods recaimed them in 1980) I do remember there being tank tops as well though.
if Lemmy can do it how hard can it really be?
Oh surely not a dig at King Lemmy, no?! The man is a living legend. Also one of the most honest down to earth righteous musicians on the planet. Strangely i do a good impression of him (ace of spades, natch!) where i sing and play bass at the same time and i never even thought about it
-
I have just found out Dee Dee Ramone was a fellow sufferer. He was initially the band's lead vocalist, though his (then) inability to sing and play bass at the same time resulted in original drummer Joey Ramone taking over the lead vocalist duties
Those were my black loon pants - I loved them. I think I actually bought them pre-decimalisation for 13/6 so this may have been Summer '71 in fact. The thinnest cotton, no pockets and very sexy at the time. I think it's time we re-assessed the seventies; I had a wonderful time!
The only thing about those thin cotton flairs was that if you tripped onto your knee, that always caused a tear or whole, and as we all know that meant the bin. Nobody would ever be seen in their best platform shoes and three star jumper* with a pair of gone at the knee pants. * cant find any pictures of 3 star jumpers anywhere. Where they really so embarassing that we sub conciously woulnt let ourselves be pictured in them, even when we thought they looked cool ? Maybe their un coolness reached back through time into our dreams via tachyon transmissions and prevented us ever been photographed in them ?
