1. Nearly 9 months later speedy daz finally gets around to having a look see at the old dry joint problem. Thing is, after 5 minutes with a screwdriver now i am stuck on how to get the damn amp out of the top of the cab. I have taken out all the marked screws (see pic) Then after prising the side wings from the front I assumed it would push out from the rear. No joy though, and i cant see any more relevant screws. Anyone got any ideas to aid me ? (apart from the obvious "get a decent make of kit" Hey i only paid £70 for it)
2. Enjoyed PJH, as always, and Ed Whashisface? (ginger nut) was ok too. I just wish the X-Ray spex TOTP clip was the entire song though. All in all not bad.
hi,does anyone no were i can get the stranglers bass tab books from, all you purists im sorry cheers
Dont think there are any bass tab books for the Stranglers mate, See this thread Heres a good place for them Stranglers tab site Dont rely on them too much though, or you'l soon be thinking of the fretts as 1, 2, 3, 4, etc instead of F. F#' G' G#, etc
5.
Simple, I'll stop using it. I used Spotify because it was free (even with adverts) and due to the large library of music. If they want to change that, I'll look elsewhere.
Ill ditto that
6.

Why didn't we have Bootsy on instead of Alan McGee and his blatant plug for his documentary. Then at least there might have been a chance of something good coming from that silly multi function bass of his. That little 'Jam' with Jools was excruciatingly bad. Jools didnt have a clue where to go and plink plonked away in an embarresingly poor fashion. I think the B man is loosing his mojo. To think he put on his big hat and shiny suit for a mere two finger twenty second shuffle.
7. Much prefer OGWT. whispering Robert could be a terrible music snob tit, (but then i was the same when i got ino Punk as a kid. Very Stalin revisionist with the older music I was, but then we all were. However we were kids so hey, were allowed some slack) but give me the OGWT over Later any day. Even The Tube was far superior to Later. Just go out and buy The tube DVD and the OGWT box set and see if its not true. PS: this lets all form a circle and play to each other with a friendly lil ole jam at the beginning is something in the format that i hate. I'm convinced it was only brought in so Jules could play along on his bloody Steinway. One of the original production assistants was quoted as saying that they couldn't believe that any bands went along with it in the first place and they fully expected to be told to bog off by the bands in the first series. Cant wait til the bbc actually gets off its arse and puts all its back catalogue online like it said it was going to. I think the thought of all that potential dvd money made them think twice about what they'd promised.
8. That maple fretless P bass Fender is a real find! Well done, its something pretty special to look at. How does it sound ?
9.
Cheers dude, our drummer is a huge fan of The Damned so I chose the name much to his delight
As a tangent to this thread id just like to say waaay back in the punk days The Damned were my favourite band to see live. In fact they were the first proper band i ever saw live. At a crappy nigh club called Smartyz in Chester in the Spring of 1979! Zeesh thats too long ago, far too long. Edit: I have just checked and it was 9th April 1979 almost exactly 32 years ago
10. I dont see how someone could buy an item then claim it was on US voltage, surely the person who sold it knows its not the case. ? I know i must be missunderstanding this somehow ?!
11. I dont think any dvd will be as comprehensive as a quality instructional book. I personally found some of these to be pretty good, but its an individual thing. These below are three of the ones i thought the best, you can click on them to be taken to the Amazon page to see more about them and what others think of them. Progressive bass:beginer to advanced (with dvd and cd) Bass Guitar For Dummies Building Walking Bass Lines - Ed Friedland . I have no connection with the authors or Amazon

It just reminded me of my old ShareReactor baseball cap I havent worn for Donkeys years.( Remember ShareReactor? ) Cafe Press will make anything up for you and its reasonable quality too. (obviously there is a minimum ammount, or anyway there was back then. Maybe they make them up as per order these days. I know that way of working is getting more popular now, as less money is tied up in dead or dormant stock. So whos gonna draw up some Bass chat designs and log's ?Dont' look at me im crap at art. Im more of an ideas man ps: Me no relation or interest in cafe Press

In fact i very nearly bought one on here and on ebay last month. In the end i went for something else, but i wil have to own one of these by August, im sure. I feel incomplete till i get one (and a decent Rickenfaker too)
16. pic of the Shaftsbury semi acoustic from the above post. Starting price of £150 and located in The Smoke. I have no connection with the seller, just thought it was a nice bass and deserved a pic so people here can see what its like.
17. When i saw this thread title, i thought that it was a post about the comedian Richard Herring, who is currently touring a show called Christ on a bike. Im off to see him next week at the new comedy club in Chester.

He knows his Rickenfakers inside out. (PS the thread is over 80 pages long so unless you have a spare 4 hours just zip to the last page )
21. Below. My first bass guitar a Westfield B 1000 P bass. £79 including p&p brand new from ebay 16 months ago, from a guy selling off his stock. These days they are between £100 - £190 in different forms and packages, new from many shops and websites. Fortunaeltely I was in luck, I could have spent two or three times that ammount and bought worse. Its only recently now i have a bit more experience with basses that i realize what a fantastic bass this is for the money. In fact not just for the money, its a great bass at any price. Below. My Peavey Milestone Mk I Jazz bass, £30 off ebay
22. Greetings and welcome.
23. Hmm GW? I do recall you saying that you were now a total convert to fanned fretts. So thats all you play now? ps: goes without saying lovely basses.
24. any info on if they are going into production ?
25. After just buying a Farida FB20 for a bargain price, I am now scouring the interweb to see what i can find out about them. Unsurprisingly the most info i get is from here and many Dawsons links! What did surprise me is thats pretty much all i can find about them. I have found the Farida to be a most excellent bass indeed, and as has been said before they easily surpass the Squier CV range as well as the Mex basses and at the very least equal the current crop of American Fender Jazz bass, from what i can tell So i am interested to know what became of this project? Where are these basses now?
