2. A month for that lot ? I will keep my fingers crossed. Anyway if i were you id buy a cheap secondhand bass and small practice amp, that you can keep in a cupboard. Then sell them again afterwards.
3. Hail fellow, well met.
4. Father Noel Furlong, is my favourite Graham Norton creation.
5. He said the thing that annoys him most is when he has a new album out and people ask him "but is it as good as your first album though?" (it never is. Thats the only thing they have ever done that i liked. All their influences out in the open writ large)
6. If they used the money that they spend on new models, and spent it on product quality control, across their basic range. they'd stil make the same proffit, but have a better name for themselves. I mean do they really need to advertise or bring out a dozen new models every year. Concentrate on the stuff your good at, is what I say.
7. "both models include premium features such as; a three-ply pickguard, high mass bridge, knurled chrome knobs..." Woooooo such innovation. How do they think up this new ideas?
8. You guitardists are all bummers. Best wishes. The Phantom ps, bloody turncoats.
9.
Status flats are really good value, but are pretty old school & thumpy (they're probably the Picato ones repackaged actually). Might not be what you're looking for if you're new to flats, but I like them.
Status Flats. Indeed ALL Status strings are wound by them in house. Not other makes repackaged. They make a point of clearly stating this on their website. the only reason they are cheap is because they make their own so dont need to charge extra on them to make a proffit.
10.
BIrmingham ....Alabama?
Huh dont laugh it could be. I once sent a parcel to New york, it went all the way to the USA then turned around again and got delivered to my return address that i'd written on the back in small letters!
11.
The tension is getting to me now. I'll have to break out the big tin of vintage Victory Vs and chomp myself into a stupor.
Victory vee's ah yes in my childhood I used to put them in a clothes peg and suck on them like a tiny hot lolly.
12. When i bought the Jaco Pastoriuos cd, the guy in the shop asked me if i was a bass player (or more like confirmed it for himself) He said that he always asked whenever anyone bought one, which only happened 3 or 4 times a year, and that he had yet to find anyone buying one who was not a bass player. I asked him if he was a bass player and of course he was
13. I can see this degenerating into a huge row and the Basschat forum desecnding into another mess like the one that created it in the first place. All because some people couldnt be bothered looking for a guitar forum from the two million out there that already exsist. ps: Guitards.
14. One that many people wouldnt think of is Steve Garvey of The Buzzcocks. some of those early Buzzcocks tracks have excellant bass tone, not forgetting some dextrous fingering. Below is a sample for all you Philistines who aint heard him
15.
Good to hear they are working for some of you. I've used them for almost every gig since I started this thread. I forget I'm wearing them most of the time and they feel great to play in. Long live Audrey Hepburn
they must be a good fit. (no too tight or too lose) I have tried playing in fingerless gloves and find it almost impossible.
16. I thought you were talking about Flying Pickets for a moment there, when i saw the subject title.
17.
Many of us flattists prefer when the sring has aged a little (or even a lot). .
Like James Jamerson. he liked his strings a week or two old.
18. I dont get it? How come a Mexican Fender roadworn Jazz is a grand. I though MIM models were cheaper ?
19. Silk Gloves are used for posh w***s only in my house.
20. I have plenty of good Android apps on my HTC Hero phone. No iPad apps though. No iPad either come to think of it. Nice but too expensive. I will get one the day that I can walk in to PC world and buy one off the shelf for under £250. Though being as Apple has prices on a tighter rein than Champion the wonder horse, I cant see me ever getting one.
21. I just got a set of Status own make, flats, only £20 inc p & p which is good for flats. They dont just buy some strings in and label them Status either. They wind their own, in house. All types of strings and lengths, they even sell singles too.
22.
Apparently there is a refillviewer 3rd party utility... I've never used it, but feel free to google about it..
cheers!
23.
So where does all that money go?????
probably half to pay bloody official trouble causers. Better known as security men, with the other half going on health and safety bollocks.
24. Thats easy. An EAD cab.
25.
Bob Marley - Stir It Up
One of the first bass lines i learned to play. You can really zone out to it for ages. Using it to practice placing your fingers properly and getting a clear note.
