http://www.bassdirec..._KZ5_TB_RW.html just couldn't help myself,my life is forfeit,my balls will be removed forcibly with a blunt spoon, oh woe is me, good bye cruel world, BUT AT LEAST I'LL HAVE A NEW BASS will be here tomorrow,my first 5 string i just hope i like it & get on with it. i've been gasing for something modern & this is just so pretty i won't sleep tonight now.
2.
No he didn't, what a load of bollocks. He probably made a quick exit, stage left, after he spotted some judgemental mouth breather looking at him with a look of disgust on his face. The kind of repellent, arrogant fool who likes to hang round guitar shops on a Saturday afternoon.
LOL, well said that man
3. there are a few decent videos on you tube so that's worth a look.
4.
MIM Classic Series
+1 these are very good indeed
5. very nice, congrats on the new toy. they are amazing for the money,i bought a fiesta red one from guitar guitar & really like it,in fact it is a better bass than my now departed MIA P bass was.
6. hi chaps, has anyone had or played one of these ? thery look to have a pretty wide range on tones but do they sound like the old Jap' ones ? i really fancy one & they're not badly priced,i know they are made in Korea & get pretty decent write ups on other bass forums but hey i only trust what i read on here
7.
Double bass everytime. If you go for an EUB, you will still want a double bass. If you get a double bass, you won't want an EUB.
+ 1 very true,i bought an EUB first of then a propper DB very shortly after, wouldn't look at an EUB now (no offence to EUB players btw)
8. don't try setting the neck relief until you replace the E string.
9. hi Keith it may be worth asking Bob Mason he had one of these that he was selling recently.
10.
If you can play root and fifth in all it's permutations, still serve the song, and keep it interesting then you are worthy of some of the best bass playing jobs on earth... If you can't then I would suggest that your quest to play other notes is a little early. Be f***ing awesome with root and fifth before you decide to move on... (I am being deadly serious)
damn right that man
11. well said Paul i wholeheartedly agree
12. i bought one of these this January http://www.thomann.d...e_blueburst.htm & couldn't be happier with it,i certainly don't want or need anything better. everyone who's played it has liked it too & it sounds rather good too. as mentioned above steer clear of the Gear4music basses they are bloody awful.
13.
Yeah, I know it would be useful, don't know anyone near me, and not sure if i can take it. Never had a lesson in my life on anything , and am happily self taught otherwise.
same here, taught myself to play bass guitar 33 years ago & now teaching myself double bass. welcome to the upright side
14. i bought my MIM Fender 50's Precision online & couldn't be more pleased with it,it is just as good as any MIA or MIJ Fenders i've owned (which is a lot i hasten to add)
15. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/186932-roland-bass-cube-30-fsft/ these really are mega it & sound like a proper amp',mine even copes very well with my double bass
16.
I don't know if my limited experience might help you - see my post here: http://basschat.co.u...ost__p__1805565
hi,thanks for the info' but i am already sorted now with high density foam f-hole covers & double sound posts feedback is pretty much a thing of the past now
17. OMG I just spotted this, bugger wish i had the dosh, wonder if i can sell a kidney
18. i'm gasing for one too matey,i really want a MK1 in black with gold hardware. sadly it'll never happen unless i win the lottery
19.
Those 'Superiors' look great. Will try those myself when the current Roto's need changing. I presume they're similar to the Roto RS4000 D & G?
I've not used the Roto's before so I can't comment on that, sorry but over on doublebasschat they reckon they are a copy of the old Lambert deluxe's which seem to be raved about over there. but the Superiors are indeed very good strings,i love them to bits & cheap as chips too they give a much nicer click than the innovations did,i always thought the inno's sounded very "plastic" where as these have a real old school "gut" sound to them.
20. the Superior's come in a set of six strings so you can pick the gauge you want & the ones i fitted are the same gauge as the Innovation super silvers i was previously using. mind the super silvers were a lot bigger than the stock steels that came on my bass,it's nothing a good man with a needle file can't sort out.
21. i'm using these http://www.freewebstore.org/superiorbassworks/Superior_Bassworks_Deluxe_Strings_Dirty_Gut/p693784_6219678.aspx love 'em to bits, real old school sound & mega easy to slap too.
22. best of luck, hope you get it sorted quickly matey
23. err i just use pledge for cleaning mine mind it is only an el cheapo laminate jobbie , but i do love it so.
