2.
blimey..never knew Ricky could rock like that. Ive been into rockabilly for over 35 years and never heard that before...great thumping bass sound. Of your ones, Long Train is my favourite, with Little Ray of Sunshine a close second. Not that theres anything wrong with Walk Away. Let me know if you guys are playing in the Bedfordshire area, and I will come along.
cheers Chris will do it'd be nice to see you & have a chat i like the bass sound too,i used to use innovation super silvers but the superior bassworks deluxe have a much better vintage sound to them & they are very cheap too. thanks for the comments on the tracks too matey, lots of people have listened but only you commented so thanks again.
 3.
Whole band are sounding good artisan..... How long have you been playing ?? ..and have you had lessons or are you self taught ??
thanks Chris i appreciate your comments. i've been playing bass guitar for just over 33 years now but only got my Double Bass in March this year so i'm still very new to it really. totally self taught on both BG & DB,just had a beginners bass book when i was 12 years old then learnt by ear from then on,never had a lesson on DB either i just gradually picked it up & still learning as i go along. i just uploaded Ricky Nelson's Stood Up to the same link, love the song to bits obne of my all time favourite rockabilly tunes. i also put another original track on "Walk away" which is my favourite track, let me know what you think please matey.(this is the only track we put an overdub guitar riff into which you can only just hear but it works)
 4.
You've linked to the dashboard page rather than your public profile. It should be something like soundcloud.com/your-name.
thanks Mornats ahem i've not used soundcloud before, can you tell man do i feel silly :edit-audio link now seems to work, thanks for the help guys
 5.
Could upload to soundcloud or similar?
thanks matey i never thought of that can you check & let me know if it works please cheers
 6. yesterday the boys & i visited out local recording studio too make a demo CD just for fun but to help us get gigs also we recorded 7 tracks 5 of which are originals & all were recorded with no second track or dubbs of any kind (how it used to be) everything including vocals in one go. i know it's not pro' quality but thats not what we were after,we wanted a more "earthy" kind of vintage sound & i think we got it. it's the first time i've heard my slap playing played back & am quite pleased with it as i only started playing DB this March,my click seems to come through nicely considering i don't have a clickey. anyhow here's a couple of original tracks, have a listen (or maybe a laugh) & let me know what you think. p.s. there's a link to my bands website in my sig' if you want to see how ugly we all are. cheers. 7. *oops wrong forum please delete
 8.
I like me some P (check my sig) but that didn't do it for me, a typical Later mix devoid of anything musically discernible in the low end I thought . I was about to dismiss it as that until the next act, Trey Songz, came on. Now that was a bass tone that made my ears prick up, really nice. YMMV. I think it was an MTD through a GK rig. Now this brings into question whether Soundgarden were badly mixed or whether it was just a poor tonal choice by them to start with?
indeed it was an MTD 535,very very nice indeed & i agree it sounded fantastic, nicely played too, didn't like the song/band though but IMO Soundgarden were total crap
 9. they are a bit weird over there though
 10. early this year i really felt the itch, bought a Stagg EUB which was ok but only 4 weeks later had ordered a propper DB & i'm just loving it to bits,no lessons required i just picked the thing up my band loved it that much we now just play 1950's tunes with a few original numbers all in a blue grass / rockabilly style. the poor old bass guitar doesn't get much of a look in now.
 11. i tried it when i had my Stagg, albeit i had steel strings on it,& it just didn't work out to well, with the right strings it may be ok,but as Doddy just said its much much better on a propper DB,it's also a lot easier on a DB.
 12. i bought this last year & have to say it looks real nice sat in the corner of my living room, unfortunately that's about all it has ever done. I bought it with intention of learning to play it properly but alas i just can't be arsed It's in mint as new condition with the original strings, also in good nick, plays & sounds very good indeed, build quality is also very good as expected from Yamaha. price is £300.00 collection preferred but i can meet somewhere pretty close to Harrogate cheers
lol she'd most likley just hit anyway cheers guys, man that Sauron bass is damn wierd never seen owt like that before. my bass arrived today (i know i know "no pics no bass" i'll sort it) & it;s fooking ace, love it even if it does have one string too many
