Could upload to soundcloud or similar?
thanks matey i never thought of that can you check & let me know if it works please cheers -
yesterday the boys & i visited out local recording studio too make a demo CD just for fun but to help us get gigs also we recorded 7 tracks 5 of which are originals & all were recorded with no second track or dubbs of any kind (how it used to be) everything including vocals in one go. i know it's not pro' quality but thats not what we were after,we wanted a more "earthy" kind of vintage sound & i think we got it. it's the first time i've heard my slap playing played back & am quite pleased with it as i only started playing DB this March,my click seems to come through nicely considering i don't have a clickey. anyhow here's a couple of original tracks, have a listen (or maybe a laugh) & let me know what you think. p.s. there's a link to my bands website in my sig' if you want to see how ugly we all are. cheers. Jools, Soundgarden, Fender P, end of discussion?
artisan replied to skidder652003's topic in General Discussion
I like me some P (check my sig) but that didn't do it for me, a typical Later mix devoid of anything musically discernible in the low end I thought . I was about to dismiss it as that until the next act, Trey Songz, came on. Now that was a bass tone that made my ears prick up, really nice. YMMV. I think it was an MTD through a GK rig. Now this brings into question whether Soundgarden were badly mixed or whether it was just a poor tonal choice by them to start with?
indeed it was an MTD 535,very very nice indeed & i agree it sounded fantastic, nicely played too, didn't like the song/band though but IMO Soundgarden were total crap -
they are a bit weird over there though

early this year i really felt the itch, bought a Stagg EUB which was ok but only 4 weeks later had ordered a propper DB & i'm just loving it to bits,no lessons required i just picked the thing up my band loved it that much we now just play 1950's tunes with a few original numbers all in a blue grass / rockabilly style. the poor old bass guitar doesn't get much of a look in now.
-
i tried it when i had my Stagg, albeit i had steel strings on it,& it just didn't work out to well, with the right strings it may be ok,but as Doddy just said its much much better on a propper DB,it's also a lot easier on a DB.

i bought this last year & have to say it looks real nice sat in the corner of my living room, unfortunately that's about all it has ever done. I bought it with intention of learning to play it properly but alas i just can't be arsed It's in mint as new condition with the original strings, also in good nick, plays & sounds very good indeed, build quality is also very good as expected from Yamaha. price is £300.00 collection preferred but i can meet somewhere pretty close to Harrogate cheers
Tell you what, in an effort to save your genitalia, I'll look after it for you and send pictures occasionally. It'll be like adopting a tiger or something. You can bask in the glow of ownership, be sent heartwarming stories and photos and Mrs Artisan is none the wiser. Sounds like a plan, waddya say?
damn that's a tempting offer, err let me think on it a while lol -
this bass is in as brand new conditon,no marks or dings anywhere it truly is a minter. i bought it earlier this year but haven't played it much, despite it being a very nice P bass indeed,as i've been playing double bass in the main. these really are nice basses, almost as good as the MIA models i think & this particular one is very very nice. i've set it up very nicely & it still has its "as new" original strings fitted. there is truly no wear or marks anywhere on this bass. it comes with a mint hiscox hard case & the Fender deluxe gigbag it came in. price is £450.00 (they are £620.00 new without a hard case) sorry no trades as i've just bought a new bass i would prefer you to collect but can meet you reasonably close to Harrogate if that helps (postage maybee a possibility if i can source a decent box--no promises though) cheers p.s. will post some photo's once i get home from work
No he didn't, what a load of bollocks. He probably made a quick exit, stage left, after he spotted some judgemental mouth breather looking at him with a look of disgust on his face. The kind of repellent, arrogant fool who likes to hang round guitar shops on a Saturday afternoon.
LOL, well said that man
