5. sunday bump.
6. good man it is a really nice bass. if you fancy a 5 string i have a very nice MTD in the for sale section, that is very nice too
7. up for sale is my beautiful MTD KZ5,bought new from Bass Direct just a few months ago. This bass is in immaculate "as new" condition & really is a very nice bass indeed, still has the original strings fitted (still sound new) & is set up perfectly. Sounds sublime with a very punchy & powerful range of tones, very flexible preamp & a huge tight B string, you can really shake the house with this baby. These basses are very well made indeed, fretwork is top notch & the whole bass is very well put together indeed, plays beautifully too. I fancied a 5 string a little while ago convinced that after 34 years playing 4's that i could make the switch with no problem -- I was wrong I just cannot get my head around the extra string, try as I may so with regret it has to be moved on. here's the blurb from MTD http://www.mtdkingst...om/basses/Z.htm My pics do not do justice to the bass,I will try to take some daylight photos over the weekend (if we get any daylight that is),the Burled Maple top is the nicest one I've seen on one of these. *Edit added a couple of new photo's of my actual bass from the Bass Direct website which show of the bass better than my crappy pics Bass comes with a very nice & well padded MTD gigbag. sorry no trades as I have already bought a 4 string to replace this. cheers
8. My god that is beautiful you clever clever person you .)
9. I do believe he bought a very nice 2eq ray from me a while back complete with Nordstrand p/up.
10. Oooh goody i think i'm really gonna like it then
11. my new Esh Various 4 arrived at 8:30 this morning & it is bloody gorgeous,by far the best made bass I've ever owned, ordered from Bass Direct yesterday. The only problem is that I'm stuck at damn work so can't even play on it,not fair not fair, can't wait to get home a plug her in. here's a pic' (from Bass Direct's site)
12. Cheers zero9, loving the Roto's they are everything i was wanting & if anything even more, they are worlds better than the innovations i was using. Can't see me ever wanting to use anything else tbh. So a massive thank you for the heads up on them.
13. Cheers guys much appreciated
14. Check your tuning pegs,my bass developed a rattle but only when i played an A. Turned out to be the A string tuning peg which was fixed in about 2 seconds, took me a week to realise what was rattling though.
15. taken at the Cross Keys,Knaresborough a couple of weeks ago
16. I recently bought an MTD KZ5 from Bass Direct & have to say it is awesome,i love it to bits. Infact it cured my GAS,well apart from wanting some more MTD's that is.
17. As Clarky said earlier make sure to dampen the after lenght (as in the strings between the bridge & the tail piece) if i don't do this with mine l get horrendous feedback,i use some velcro tape for this. The Fishman is a must too & works very well,i wouldn't leave home without mine. Also cut the bass setting on your amp too as it also cuts the boom down too & will make your notes much clearer.
18. I had one a while back briefly (dodgy bass long story) & even though it was a problem bass it was still a much better bass than any Musicman i have owned.
19.
if you have the space, go for the double bass, you won't look back.
+1 words of wisdom
20. Good man how excited are you, hell i'm excited for you.

22.
That's good to know, I really need to get a go on some basses!
if you are ever near Harrogate you are more than welcome to have a go on my Strunal (Thomann) bass.
23. I paid £99 for the roto's from Amazon but they were only showing the 1 set in stock.
24. Thanks again to you zero9 i have been reading up on the RS4000's over lunch and actually ordered a set from Amazon. After reading up on the guts i think they are just too much faffing about for me,after all i am fat & lazy. Fingers crossed i will like them,i'm sure they will be nicer to slap than the super silvers & hopefully have a nicer clck too. Cheers again
25. Aha thanks for the info zero9 much appreciated. Would these be a better bet for me do you think ? Cheers
