3.
These are my fave. They're more pleasing than the Schaller type and they feel safer, to me anyway. http://www.amazon.co...el%20straplocks
I use these too, i find them easier to unclip than the schallers, and really good quality for the price

  6.
Genius but a bit odd to say the least (like many genius are I suppose!)Parade is my favourite album. Saw a couple of the O2 shows a few years ago and they were superb. There's a rumour he's about to announce some UK dates and i can only recommend that you try to see him live if you can.
I love Parade too , great album I was lucky enough to see him at the Manchester Acadamy Saturday show,,,,, words cant describe how good the gig was,, 3 hours,, 5 encores,, prince on bass for two songs ,, I was about 15 people from the front , Majestic!!! best gig Iv'e ever been to,, still buzzing off it,, heres the set list http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/prince/2014/manchester-academy-manchester-england-bc5452a.html
  7.
Section 6d2 (page 5) should help answer your question http://barefacedbass...manual%20v1.pdf thanks for that Roland, ^^ really interesting read
8.
Athletes foot powder helps with playing busy 16th note basslines? Why has no one told me this before now? Do I put it on my feet or rub it in my hands?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  9. Oh go on then !!!, I made a few vids for online audition purposes, definitely worth doing if your serious about joining a good band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCrRXxamfDg
  10.
Having played a number of Jack Casady (five different of the gold, one silver burst and three black!) and the Ltd Ed Pelham Blue Gibson midtown bass for prolonged periods of time (a good few hours on each!), I'd have a JC every day of the week. They sound great, half the price and the minimal issues (mainly neck dive) are just as noticeable on both models. I think with a nice set of flats, the JC would be a really killer bass with a thunderous sound! Also, the VariTone switch has some great scope for tone. The '50' option is a really nice, vintage tone and the '500' is just a full on, balls-to-the-wall tone. Lovely instruments!
This ^^^^^ I tried them both in dawsons liverpool and I really wanted the gibson when I went in and I walked out with the jack , you cant beat the sound of the jack ,, ITS HUGE !!!!! Love it :-)
  11.
Think you are worrying unnecessarily, after all, they hang on straps when we play em.
I know!! I never slept a wink last night
  12.
Nice for display, maybe, but doesn't look quick-grab enough for me. By the way, re. your title... Is there REALLY any 'stress' on the neck from a conventional hanger? The string tension on a bass is doing its best to compress the entire instrument with a force of 140lbs, or more. Doesn't hanging from the headstock simply decrease that compression by the (far lesser) amount that the bass weighs? Dunno, but I've always felt that 'stress' to be pretty insignificant
Dunno about the physics to be honest, wouldn't hanging a guitar cause a bit of stress at the neck/body joint due to the actual weight of the guitar ? (applies to bolt on necks, not neck through)
  13. this looks interesting , it hangs it using the strap buttons http://www.stringsdi...standard-model/ and only £12.99 !!
  14. one of these Quicklok stands for me, not that compact but your basses ain't going anywhere
  15. Thanks Graham, I'm well happy with the BB1100s, plays like butter It arrived exactly as described, impeccably packaged and was a smooth transaction, all in all Graham is a top bloke, thank you. Jason
  16. Leave your Credit Card at home Mark is a lovely bloke, he is very passionate about his business and gives good advice, have fun
  17. Thanks Steve , I'll give that a go later , thought I could detect a bit of chorus too , maybe a touch of octaver ? I'm playing it with a pick and at the moment it sounds best on my Ibanez atk, I want to get it as close as possible .
I think the record had a mix of real and sampled bass, but no matter! I'd start with a bright mid-scooped preset that I'm sure your B9 has, with maybe a hint of chorus. But FX aside, for my money the most important aspect of getting the authentic 2 tribes sound is the bass and guitar getting their parts and timing absolutely nailed. Now stick fours on the floor (that's 4s on the kick drum for you non-groovers) - then watch the punters feet immediately start tapping.
18. Resurrection of an old thread alert !!! hi guys, Our band are going to give two tribes a go, any idea what effects are used on the bassline ? I'm playing the bass line ok but it sounds a bit flat, I have a zoom B9 so I have loads of effects to play with thanks in advance.
  19. Finally set my rig up at home, Iv'e got a month till our next gig so I thought I'll set it up and work on a few new sounds, Markbass TA503, two GK Neo 112's, EBS Multicomp, Zoom B9, Korg DTR2000, all cabled up by OBMM (rockwire cables) sounds alright I suppose
  20. good band , liked the dynamics and the well played riffs , nothing wrong with a bit of 80's nostalgia as long as its done well , all music is repetition and the same riffs anyway ,
  21.
http://italiastraps....w-sale-page.htm Fantastic quality and BOGOF !!
