I used to get a year's worth of gigs out of an Energiser - at the time it was around 70 plus practices

I've had a couple of Lollar pickups sent from the US and didn't have to pay anything extra

What are you listening to right now?
Delberthot replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
Not only listening to but watching also; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xnmzins2Uow Foo Fighters new album. These days I find myself more entertained by drummers than bass players and currently none moreso than Taylor Hawkins -
A Squier VM Mustang - much rather have one of these to the Bronco/Musicmaster More lower end 12vers. I wouldn't use one enough to justify spending £1500 on that Chandler Royale on Ebay but I would have one in a minute. Easy peasy - 5 string neck, slightly longer headstock, one of those cheapy string through body bridges off Ebay, bob's your uncle

Whats the hardest bassline you've learnt and why?
Delberthot replied to iconic's topic in General Discussion
Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song Its all over the place. I find the swing/big band arrangements the hardest to learn without the dots which is strange considering that my first real band at 17 was in a big band with a Dixieland band as a spin-off from this -
I use a single Laney Nexus NX15 15" cab for everything. Its not trendy, its not expensive and I think there's probably only one other member on here that has one but I am seriously happy with my sound and its only 20kg. I'm thinking about a second one for the biggest of non-pa gigs but so far have yet to run into any problems with volume so haven't bothered so far. if you want more, the 4x10" is only 27.5kg and even the 8x10" is only 45kg which is nothing compared to the 75kg Ampeg 8x10" You don't really need to worry about running your amp at 4ohms. I don't think I've ever ran my Gallien 700RB II with a 4 ohm load.

I've got a cheapy Meridian 80w guitar combo with a Celestion that I picked up for peanuts. Has phono inputs and headphone out. Plus with it being a guitar combo, it doesn't annoy the neighbours. Although it does still put out a low of low end for a guitar combo.

that stand has and will take a full weight 4x10", I even used it with my Trace V-type combo a couple of years ago. You would have to push the stand back until its about 5" off the floor before it would start to tip. totally solid, even with drunk punters insisting on leaning against it to request songs. It doesn't look doom but I'd rather be able to hear myself clearly than have an impractical 8x10" penis extension behind me
I'd consider a swap for an acre of the moon.
I could kick you in the stones then you'd have 2 acres. Boom boom I thank you

Maybe it was originally a 'private collection' piece cos they were too embarrassed to show that bloody awful looking thing initially

surely the decal is on far too straight for it to be a real Fender

I've been using this setup for years: The cab may change from time to time but this is how I monitor myself in my function band. I prefer it to the right hand side but space sometimes doesn't allow this so the audience miss me busting some moves when I'm playing pub gigs with no PA support, I turn the stand round so that it is beside/behind me, level it out horizontally so I can still hear it clearly while still pointing towards the audience instead of at me Easy peasy

I'll take your challenge sir The Punto boot is 127cm long with the back seats folded and 103cm wide. The 1524 is about 94cm long by 61cm wide by about 40 deep. This should mean that you could get 2 cabs lengthwise on their sides with enough room for the amp and 4052Hs down one side. Plus the car would be scraping along the ground, that is of course if the suspension hadn;t completely given up. When I had my Punto I had a Trace 1153, Peavey 4x10", 8u rack, 2 basses, another 3u rack for my bass amp and a huge holdall for my cables.

I had 7 or 8 at one time but only have 1 and its not one of the usual suspects. My Epiphone Gothic Thunderbird that I fitted EMG HZs and Roto flats does everything. I am, however, planning a purchase next year as I celebrate my silver jubilee (25 years in old money) since I began playing. I'm going for a Gibson Thunderbird but something a bit special like a Bicentennial or one of those dark blues Japan only fellows I missed out on a couple of years back

I've just bought myself a Trace combo. The original speaker blew less than a year ago so the owner at the time decided to replace the Trace Celestion with a neo one but its 4ohms and I want to be able to run this combo with a second cab for bigger gigs so I'm really looking for a trade for an 8ohm of some description. The model of the speaker is the Celestion BN15-300x. Its 300w into a 4ohm load. You can get the specs here ****************** Price now down to £65 delivered and £55 collected ****************************
Long-standing regular gig last night in Wimbledon. The ne Drummer offered to help take the PA so popped round mine first. I told him it was in the garage and he loaded the monitors and mixing desk in his car. 90 minutes later we arrive and set up. unfortunately the Drummer has brought my camping table rather than the mixer! Martin the landlord is unflappable and phones a mate who arrives with a spare desk in less than 5 minutes. The gig went really well and the Drummer is now referred to as Baden Powell
I was pissing myself laughing when I read this.

Tonight's gig was at a hotel that we play often but they had us on the stage which meant that everything was booming. Sound was terrible. There were a lot of pissed people who wanted me to die as they kept trying to put their drinks on the stage about an inch from my pedal board. Some drunk people trying to get on the stage and I managed to resist kicking one of them in the chest although the temptation was there. Last weekend's gig was much better. Masonic do so it was raised trouser legs and 'how old's your granny'. They loved us and want to book us again. I'm not surprised as we did it for about half what we normally charge just to get us in the door so to speak. There were a couple of high up ones from other thingies there as well. Had to resist the temptation to do any Grandmaster Flash or that Village People classic 'in the masons' In the wedding band we have to do a fair amount of sh*te but tonight we actually got asked to learn songs that I like. The usual ones are songs that the guitarist and singer already know so it was disapointing when they couldn't be arsed to learn them properly. AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie, You Shook me All Night Long. Stereophonics - Dakota. Killers - Mr Brightside

Bugger, missed you the last time you were up and just noticed this thread.

I used Elites Nathan East signature strings but it looks like they don't do them anymore. You need to get the tapered B string to fit the Warwick, I snapped the one that came in the set cos the winding goes to far and ends up round the tuner
