    I was missing my 12 string and since I thought it would be a bit overkill for the wedding band I decided to get an 8 string but I can't get it to fit in anywhere so its now up for sale. Its a shame cos after posting in the repairs and technical issues section saying that i couldn't get it set up to my liking, I managed to get it set up to my liking and have been practicing all week to make sure I could pull it off. I'm literally just back from tonight's gig with it so haven't had the chance to take any pictures of it on its own but here are some pictures I recently put in the gear porn forum: The truss rod cover is missing from the pictures as I had just adjusted the truss rod but it will be fitted prior to delivery/meet up or whatever. The bass is a maple through neck with walnut strips and a rosewood fretboard with 24 frets. Considering its maple, its not that heavy and it balances very well on a decent strap. It has satin nickel hardware and a 2 band EQ. I changed the battery when I bought it to a decent Duracell one as it had one of those cheap and nasty ones fitted. The bass was made in Shine's Korea factory as its one of their top of the range models and everyone knows Korea is the new Japan innit Its in minty condition and so it should be cos its new. I can't find any marks on it anywhere. It will come with a gig bag and I have a set of Rickenbacker strings I can include for an additional £35 (they're [url="http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/products/1088-rickenbacker_8_string_bass_"]£49 from Strings Direct[/url]) otherwise I'll sell them separately. As far as price goes, they're currently £385 delivered not including gig bag so I'd be looking for something of equal value new when considering trades. I haven't a clue what I'd be looking for in a trade so try me and you might have what I didn't know I wanted For a straight sale I'd be looking for around the £[s]300[/s] 275 mark ONO including postage to mainland UK

    I read recently that Phil Chen has used the Same Fender Precision since 1966 and has never even changed his strings Me, I just like to try out different stuff and at the end of the day, whether I'm playing a £3000 Modulus Flea or a £200 Epiphone Thunderbird, as long as I'm getting a good sound out front and it plays well - who cares? Note: I'm not trying to compare myself to Phil Chen BTW

    +1 for the Boss OC-2. It doesn't just add an octave below, its quite a dirty sounding pedal and adds grit to your tone. That may be why boss added a distortion setting to the OC-3 as the digital octave couldn't replicate it.

    When I moved the strap button on the Thunderbird, my strap wouldn't fit onto the strap button which was now at the end of the heel so I found an Ebay seller selling one of those extension thingies and just attached it using a nut, a bolt and 2 big washers.

    Most people will recommend what they use so have a look at what's in my sig- you could but both head and cab brand new with the money you've got. I too like a gritty sound but just use the boost on the amp for that. I use my setup for every gig I do. It'll comfortably do a pub gig up to around 100 people with no PA support and anything bigger than that I'd be DI'd into the PA anyway. The cab weighs 21kg so its pretty light
