If there's not enough time for you as established bassist to rehearse, how difficult will it be for them to a) find a replacement and b) get them up to speed in the same amount of time? I'm not sure I'd want to stick around if I were you.

I'm not the most technically gifted musician, so when I was auditioning for my first proper band (my current one) I worked my butt off to learn 20+ songs in 3 weeks in my spare time, which with my various other commitments was not the easiest task. To have done nothing in a month is just unacceptable, however talented you are, as is just not turning up to rehearsals, so I reckon get shot of both of them and find some other folks who are actually prepared to commit.

Another month, another working men's club. This was very Phoenix Nights. We all made some heinous mistakes during the first set, bit we were on it for the second and encores, so it ended up being a good night. I got some great compliments on my playing and tone, and I'm loving this setup with the ABM Evo IV, Two10S and V7. One (admittedly quite inebriated) chap even declared me to be the best bass player he's ever heard with the exception of John Entwistle, which I'll take! 🤣 And the most attractive woman there by several hundred miles made a point of saying thank you to me for us putting on a great show, so that was just the cherry on the icing on the cake. The only downside was not getting home until 12.30am, not getting to sleep until 2, but then having to be up at 6.30 to hand off @Merton's broken amp to his sister. Fortunately Mrs Greg let me have a lie in until 10.30, so a good start to my long weekend.

Indeed! My first gig after a 20-odd year hiatus was in a 500-capacity venue so I was bricking it. Fortunately there were only about 30 people in it so it could have been worse.

A couple of times I've thought to save for something and followed it, but then when I've had the money I've gone to search for it again (and that's a faff in itself as you can't have a following filter for for-sale items) it's been sold.
