  1. The image doesn't seem to be loading
  2. It's depressing as I want one of these but won't have the funds until May at the earliest 😭
  3. Apologies if I'm preaching to the converted but have you tried MM's signature strings? If not he talks in this video about finding more or less what you're after with them.
  4. As I'm from the Wirral you have a kindred spirit here!
  5. Ah, another expat from the right side of the Pennines!
  6. Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams
  7. Yeah, we split ours equally among the five of us
  8. Welcome! Where in God's Own Country are you?
  9. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds - The Beatles
  10. I'm tempted by such an arrangement myself, our singist does like coming within my potential strike zone. I'm not sure a P-bass to the skull would go down well!
  11. I'd love this to be still available this time next month, but at that price I'm not hopeful. GLWTS!
  12. Unfortunately postponed owing to our guitarist having food poisoning. Thankfully rescheduled in a month's time.
  13. OK, in chronological order... Hohner Rockwood (came with my Hohner Rockwood Pro bass as a package) Laney combo of some description (it was a while ago, I forget) Trace Elliott Boxer 65 Marshall Super Bass Marshall JCM800 4x12 Ashdown AVM EVO (on semi-permanent loan from @Merton) SWR Workingman's 2x10T Ashdown MAG 4x10 Barefaced Two10S
  14. Possibly the shortest list yet, but in order (bolded with still own): Hohner Squier Wesley Squier Sire
  15. Mmm, I miss my Marshall Super Bass. Alas I had to sell it just as we went into lockdown in 2020 (I was robbed too, only got £900 for it! 😢) but it had just had a complete internal overhaul by someone who specialises in vintage valve amps so it sounded freaking amazing.
  16. If you're new to bass it would definitely be worth getting someone more experienced to run you through how to set it up properly. There are plenty of online guides (this is Fender's) but if you're not sure what you're doing then seeing someone else do it and be able to ask questions will be invaluable. Hopefully you'll soon feel confident enough to do your own setups.
  17. I always believed that he was pitching his courses towards wannabe session players. I managed to score a lifetime membership a couple of years ago so I tend to dip in and out whenever something particularly interesting comes along.
  18. I have a Barefaced Two10S and it sounds pretty old school by design
  19. Ah, the Imprecision Bass 😃
  20. How come you're selling it so soon after buying it?
  21. Venue-provided Markbass or have you been spending again? 😆
  22. Oh nice. I used to live in Redruth but never managed to find a band down that way unfortunately. I did find two excellent repairers down there that I miss having available though - Tube N' Truss in St Dennis is where I used to take my vintage Marshall valve amp for servicing and repairs (I miss that thing) and I used to go to Julyan Wallis (him off of BBC's The Repair Shop) near Penzance for instrument setups, etc. I used to work with a drummer in Truro, and while he might not be looking for another band he might know of others who are. I'll see if I can get in touch with him.
  23. Whereabouts in Cornwall are you?
  24. I tend to orientate my 2x10 depending on where I am in the room. If it's long and narrow and I'm set up at the narrow end I'll have the cab horizontal; if I'm on the long side then I'll use it vertically, even though the amp hangs off the sides a bit.
