  1. Chvrches are great , I've liked them since I saw them at Glastonbury not long ago (only on the telly though).
  2. A lot of it is processed so much that if there are actual physical instruments involved they're compressed and quantised so much they may as well not be. This is not to say I dislike electronic music, because that's not the case, but if a tune involves humans mechanically creating it then I want to hear imperfections in tone, timing, dymanics, etc.
  3. Yep, now I've got essentials out of the way I'm having to not get tempted, and the one purchase I'm eyeing up will require some quite rigorous saving and selling of other gear.
  4. That's very interesting, I have also heard similar rumours. I have seen them being demonstrated by certain women who were doing other tasks such as ordering coffee at a drive through, which just shows their laudible dedication to multitasking.
  5. Speaking of which, can anyone recommend an inexpensive option for this? I'd quite like the Gator two-bass pro gig bag but at close to £200 it's a bit out of reach at the moment. There are a few (eg G4M) at a fraction of this price but will I mess up both of my basses by choosing a false economy?
  6. Designed by Hans Niemann? (niche chess joke there) Certain websites inform me that certain similar devices do actually exist for women, but I can neither confirm nor deny that is actually the case...
  7. Very nice! I'm not normally a fan of that style of single cut bass but that actually looks lovely.
  8. We've only had to cancel gigs before because our singist had knackered his voice on the previous gig, or someone's been ill.
  9. At the moment one just because of logistics, but I am eyeing up a two-bass case so I can take a backup in case something goes wrong. I already have a spare amp after a previous one blew in the middle of a gig and at least one other DI option.
  10. The exception to this is on the Fender Performer series where the "Greasebucket" (named after the shape, not the greasiness) tone control rolls off the treble and bass to leave you with a more midrangey tone. I wasn't a fan when I tried a Performer Jazz, although I loved everything else about the bass.
  11. Knock Three Times - Tony Orlando & Dawn
  12. Tainted Love - Gloria Jones, Soft Cell, et al
  13. "We're sorry, our bass player has forgotten all our songs. Is there another bass player out there who does and can step in?"
  14. Don't forget that Daphne & Celeste once appeared at Reading and Leeds...
  15. Yep, I've had a few: Playing in the wrong key for an entire song because I forgot we weren't playing in the same key as the original Turning down the volume between songs when I had to do something that would have caused noise, then forgetting to turn it back up again when I started playing My mind wandering and forgetting what it is I was playing and having to drop out for a bar to refocus
  16. No, but that will now change. RS has said they're looking into doing a MetroExpress P-bass though.
  17. The five-string version of this is on my list, looks amazing. GLWTS!
  18. Roger has confirmed in the FB group that they have been released, although I can't see any of them anywhere in Europe.
  19. Dammit, I need more coffee. OK say 92 possible options means 8.3 trillion years.
  20. Assuming 56 alphabetic characters (all upper and lowercase letters), 10 numeric, and let's say 30 special as you suggest, that's 96 possible options per character entry. Assuming 10 characters, that gives us 96P10 or 4.093x10^19 possible combinations. Attempting them @ 1s would take something in the region of 12.8 trillion years. I'm guessing that computers might be able to do it slightly faster than this though...
  21. What's My Age Again? - Blink-182
  22. Or you could buy a Vintera 70s Jazz, paint it yourself and save yourself £500. Good work as usual, Fender!
