Not for me. How much?
2. Had a weird one myself a few weeks ago. We played a regular venue that supplies a backline, drums, PA & sound guy. My back line was Trace head and 15" cab and I always get a good sound, I use a Trace head myself. Last time the head was getting a repair, and I had no warning of this. The replacement was a Laney combo that sounded sh*te. I plugged in the 15" Trace cab as an extension speaker but that wasn't much cop. We did a quick sound check, but when we came to play I hit my first note and thought the amp was off. I checked and it wasn't, but fumbling around I almost messed the intro. The monitor vocals were almost non existant. The sound guy was not around and the landlady was adjusting the sound whilst serving. The set did not go too well for me after that. The second set was better vocal wise, but like Pete I was on edge and just went on to fluff more bassslines for the whole night. It was commented on, but not in a nasty way as the the band are not like that. I was glad when it was over.
3. There are plenty of Oasis songs to choose from. Should be ok for some BBQ rock.
4. Definitely a can of worms. If you are not in it for the money then keep it simple and an equal split, after fuel for the driver(s) and other costs, although with the cost of fuel now there's not going to be much left. In our band our drummer takes the odd £5 or £10 extra as he owns the PA and van.
5. Hi There & welcome. Quite an introduction you made there. I'm not GASing at the moment, but always appreciate a photograph of some tasty gear.
6. Main bass is my Stingray, so no problem there. I have taken a backup bass in the past, and these have been a P bass or my Charvel, although I have not had to use one for emergencies. The closet I got to a gig problem with my Ray was when the volume pot played up and cut out a bit in the souncheck. It got me through the gig and I quickly replaced it. I have only broken 1 string mid set in 30 years of playing. I sometimes take my fretless out for a few songs, but if I don't then I'm out with just my Ray. I have an old set of strings just in case. I'm sure the others could keep the crowd going if I had to replace a string. So I guess I'm another yes and no.
7. Yet another Dunlop 1mm black nylon user here. Tried other but these really cut it for me. I hold mine the other way round and use the rounder end on the strings! Anyone else tried it that way?
8. Glad you have found us at last. Welcome aboard. Let's see all that gear, we are all waiting.
9. Glad to hear how well it went. We are soon to be adding Go Your Own Way to our set. I can only bet that it is a good crowd pleaser? Never done any Fleetwood Mac covers before live. I'm sure we have all jammed out The Chain, but that doesn't count. Keep up the good work. If you get to gig in the Torbay I'd like to come and see you. As you are on Lemonrock (just checked) then I can check out your dates from there.
Check out the thread that I posted my hybrid tab / notation transcription to Olivers Army to. 12. I bought this sticker off eBay and it arrived yesterday. I 've stuck it on my flightcase. It's quite amusing. I also got one for our son who is a drummer. It's the same except it says drums insted of bass (obviously). Plenty more music related ones to choose from the eBay shop, if they take your fancy of course. 13. I like the the first letter of this months issue. A guy has written in about the Bassically Speaking feature, which he likes, but complains about what appears to be a tremendous amout of hate about 5 string basses from a lot of the featured bassists. He also points out that some of them, afer dissing 5 strings then go on to say how they detune. I have read quite a few of these features and must agree with him. Some of them really make a point of it. I'm no 5 string player, although I once owned a 5 string Stingray fretless for a short while, and I have no issue with 5 strings. There was a recent thread on BC about a similar perceived prejudice for anything over 4 strings.

Hand size...

8" long, and XXL size bike gloves.
16. Sounds like the nail has been hit on the head straight off.

I could keep looking for ages, but it's lunchtime and I need to get out!
18.
Peavey sold two different TNT115 models. There was the TNT115 which had a Blue somethingorother driver and the TNT115-BW which had the Black Widow driver.
The Blue Marvel speaker is the cheaper option. If you can get the Black Widow option then rock on. Years ago I had a TNT150 with the bi-amped top cab & loved it.
19. My headphones are ready for listening to your uploaded clips.
20. I dont' believe this model has the black widow speaker in it? If so then check it out first as the original speaker can get abused easily and start flapping under gigging load. A pupil of mine bought a TNT115 almost new a few years ago and then it started to flap and it was quite annoying. I put him in touch with a BC'er who was selling a black widow loaded cab. He got it and we swapped the speakers around. Wow, what a difference. He is blasting now with no problems and has a 2nd 15" cab for those monolithic stack rock moments.
21. If it's got a line out you could use that. Not quite as good as a DI, but will work.
22. shame the bass isn't included! Nice rig, good luck.
23. Mmm, tasty collection. How do you choose which one to use?
24.
went to see a band ,rock covers, were quite good had a little to drink fish and chips after, now at home what a nice night

sounds like a perfect night ! fish and chips mmmmmmmmmmmmm
Yeah, we had a chippy night last night too.
25. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well in my case it' worth 12 bands of graphic eq on my Series 6 AH200 Trace head. Bass wise on my 2band eq Ray it's both on full with maybe a little bass cut if necessary depending on the venue.
