1. Hey Mark, You can send it down & I'll 'av a butchers if you like
2. You need to connect the paint - I presume you mean conductive paint - to the earth coming in from the jack socket, which should also be wired to the pot bodies. Usually a screw is fitted anywhere convenient in the control cavity, with a solder tag making good contact with the paint & the wire soldered from there to the earths mentioned above^ wherever is easy. Cheerz, John
3. Send me a picture of the wiring on the pots & I'll see if I can guide to as to which ones to swap , shouldn't be difficult if you can solder?
4. Simon got in touch for a P-bass wiring kit, great communication, all done in a couple of PMs, instant payment, perfect way to do business, no problems Cheerz, John
5. Looks sweet enough very tasty
6. Mark replied to my wanted ad for a practise amp for my lad with a very kind offer, we agreed a trade & everything was done/delivered exactly as arranged. A real pleasure to deal with, great communications & a happy ending all round. Cheerz, John
7. The 3rd pic used in the ebay ad is a stock Fender pic, it all sounds fishy to me - report him
8. PJB stuff I'm told is very good but it's not cheap 'you get what you pay for'
9. I had the micro cube a while - didn't get a lot out of it with any passive P's or J's - just about liveable sounds with an active, overall not impressed. But then - I'm a grumpy old git who likes a bass to sound like a bass
10. Had one when some shop was doing them 1/2 price a few years back - not bad for that price! Does yours have the controls in correct position as per the manual? Mine didn't, neither did any of the stock I saw in GAK, IIRC the volume & blend were swapped over.
11. £350! ssshhhhh you'll have a queue at his door
12. Against 2 guitards with 80W Marshals & noisy drummard - I don't think you've got a chance TBH (TBH also = to be heard)
13.
Thanks for that - could be that I misheard when he said he bought the bass Anyone know of how they compare to other Jazzes though folks? Quality of build / components etc? EDIT: Or why they are so cheap, compared to other USA Fenders??
Could be a genuine '90 - does he swear/is he certain he bought it in '90? If he'd the original purchaser - he should know - any receipts?
14.
http://www.fender.co...product-dating/ 1999, unless I'm reading it wrong. Edit: Beaten to it by John! Hi, John!
Hi Mark, hope you're good! Reading the Fender blurb though - it could be a '90
15. I think Serial N9***** indicates 1999 - the N is Ninety, 9 is the second digit of the year abreviation, the 0 & other 4 numbers make up the rest of the serial. But I'm no expert photo's would help of course
16. That's very nice good job
17. Thanks for the update Sean, my very best wishes to Uncle H. for a full recovery - take it easy young fella me lad - & get well soon. Howard is a real diamond gent - I'm sure no basschatters will be hurt financially or otherwise during this recovery period patience is a virtue Cheerz, John x
18. What's your budget? http://www.juleamps.com/bass/monique.html very tasty
19. Another straightforward deal with Paul, he's everything you could wish for in a 1st class basschatter Cheerz, John
20. The only things I can see wrong with that - is the G string ain't wound on very well & the intonation probably wants sorting - Oh! & it's a leftie Edit: I notice it's "item specifics" class it as a right handed 6 string!
21. I made a Jazz kit for Stephen, great comms & instant payment, a pleasure to deal with, no problems. Cheerz, John
22. Both my lads are often up & about earlyish at the boot fairs this time of year. I am always saying " If you find any Fenders for a tenner or so - - - " Guess what my youngest came up with today! 23. I would just open up an area under the wire & channel it as required as you say, then mount on foam for adjustment - assuming screws with springs weren't supplied with?
24. Great score Rick 'tis a wunderous thing to play I'll bet!
25. Gareth got in touch for some new innards for his Mustang, great comms & instant payment, a real pleasure to deal with him. Cheerz, John
