1. I would recommed Phil Jones Bass for this bass - very clean and transparent tone.
 2.
I know you cant see me but I'm hanging my head in shame as i type this. I have now watched your video, i didnt notice it was one, i thought it was a photo... I thought it was a well explained demo but would have liked to have heard you drive it a bit harder, you almost did but backed off. I think you are in your garage so i guess it wasnt possible?
Haha, you do know I was only teasing... Worth noting that, try as I might, I could never get mine to go gritty
Utmost respect to your playing WB but the reason for the reference was I'm after some Old Skool "Phat" tones from my next amp and your videos display the nice Honk that the Spyder has. Is it a one trick pony or is there some "mellow" tone to be found also.
I think a lot of the honk was due to the fact that it was a P bass being used. I used the amp with all my other basses and never thought it was inherently "honky". Great amps, lovely warm core sound with a simple user interface, but actually nice and versatile.
 3.
Well I have havent seen the video threads you mention
You mean the video I posted in this very thread to assist you in your sale? I'm hurt
 4.
I think it was a bog brush by the look of it
Should have been mocha then?
 5. Hi Nick What are the dimensions of the 'board, and did you put the "hook" or the "loop" velcro on it? Cheers Gareth
 6. Well done team... so who's pointing this out to the eBay seller?
 7. I am no expert, but I would say there is no way that is an L series Fender.
 8.
I certainly wouldn't want to put up any readies to buy one without trying it first, in case it turned out to be a horrible player.
And now I have found one from my year of birth......
 9.
I wonder how a low B would sit with it.
from the reports I've heard, just fine
 10. Is it a lined fretless? If yes, it's an easy job, as the dots on the side of the neck will line up just fine, but if it's unlined not quite so simple as the dots will be in the "fret" position. You'll also need a new nut or a shim under the existing one. Depending where you are, The Gallery in London, Joe White in Ash Vale, Bernie Goodfellow in Brighton are three good candidates.
 11.
Gareth, I coudn't find any on ebay but would be interested to take a look, can you post links?
Nice sunburst 1967 here, and the same seller has a 1966 refin for sale which hasn't sold in ages but is currently unlisted. Also another one in the Netherlands here. They have it listed on their eBay account as well, but I can't find the link just now....
 12. I've always had a fascination for these, but they are big beasts (3" longer than a P bass) and I am not sure just how off putting the 15 fret neck would be. I certainly wouldn't want to put up any readies to buy one without trying it first, in case it turned out to be a horrible player. That said, they are out there, in fact there are two on eBay right now, but I suspect the rarity factor keeps the price up rather than their playability. Watch 0:45-1:40 of this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agtztX9rlJU
 13.
Any thoughts anyone?
Yes, you are clearly mad to sell this
 14. I loved the 550 I had. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8QibZQbxSc&feature=plcp I believe the (discontinued) rackmount versions were all UK built?
 15. I've just got a Pedaltrain Nano to mount by Radial Bigshot i/o, TC Polytune and Source Audio Programmable EQ on. George L cables and a 1 Spot. Nice.....
 16.
You star! Thank you!!
My pleasure. Suggest you buy a mix of 8-12mm just to be sure.
 17.
Where did you get the shorter bridge screws from by the way? I could do with some.
I got them from here. 8mm for the E and G, 10mm for the A and D if I remember correctly.
 18.
I'm wondering if I need one always loaded with flats, and another with rounds, maybe the same again but with different 'boards....
Clearly, you need my bass
 19.
Is it basswood or alder?
The modern PB57 is basswood now, but I have no idea what they were made of back in the late 80s. Sorry
 20. I had a totally stock 73 that was as follows
What colour the scratch plate is supposed to be as standard ? - tortoiseshell, three ply Is the sunburst two or three tone ? - three tone Where the tugbar is (I think below) - below the g string What's on the neck plate ? - large F, with serial number above
21. Hmm, I wonder if this and the Thumper pickup would work in the MIJ P bass I have for sale. I know mine's a "13 hole" scratchplate, but if it did fit I'd be interested!
 22. Sunny Sunday photo opp bump... The small, smooth chip on the back of the neck. Scratches from where someone kept sticking a pick under the scratchplate (looks worse than it is due to bright sun!)
 23.
An active Warwick Rockbass Corvette sends the needle into the red zone at around 50% of input gain through the high input. Switching to low input socket and a bit more on the gain makes the needle react a bit slower without excessive peaking.
And is this a giggable volume?
 24. I had an ABM300 for a while and it was a cracking little amp. Plenty loud enough for the bands I was playing in at the time, neither of which were exactly shy on the volume front. Important to eliminate as many potential problems as possible before you take it to a tech so, as RandomBass said, where's the input needle getting to when you play? Any chance you have the input switch set to active instead of passive? Failing all the abve, some folks say that certain amp/cab combinations just don't work well, so perhaps this is one! Cheers Gareth
