[size=4][b]12AY7 (45% gain)[/b] 2 x Electro Harmonix 12AY7 = £13.50 (not tested by me, but new)[/size] [size=4][b]EL84[/b] 4 x PHILIPS NOS from 1967 = £16.00[/size] (these have not been tested by me) All valves, except where noted, have been tested and work. Mr. Foxen Posted May 18, 2012 Share Posted May 18, 2012 Might be thinking of power valves for matching. Preamp valves aren't run in such a way that it is an issue. The only thing is that in each of those valves there are two sections, and some consider it desirable to check the matching between the two within a valve, but with Mullards the whole point of them is they are of consistent quality anyway.
