I used the amp with all my other basses and never thought it was inherently "honky". Great amps, lovely warm core sound with a simple user interface, but actually nice and versatile.

    Is it a lined fretless? If yes, it's an easy job, as the dots on the side of the neck will line up just fine, but if it's unlined not quite so simple as the dots will be in the "fret" position. You'll also need a new nut or a shim under the existing one. Depending where you are, The Gallery in London, Joe White in Ash Vale, Bernie Goodfellow in Brighton are three good candidates.

    I've always had a fascination for these, but they are big beasts (3" longer than a P bass) and I am not sure just how off putting the 15 fret neck would be. I certainly wouldn't want to put up any readies to buy one without trying it first, in case it turned out to be a horrible player. That said, they [i]are[/i] out there, in fact there are two on eBay right now, but I suspect the rarity factor keeps the price up rather than their playability.     I've just got a Pedaltrain Nano to mount by Radial Bigshot i/o, TC Polytune and Source Audio Programmable EQ on. George L cables and a 1 Spot. Nice.....
