1. I think this bears repeating:
Last time we had some grumping about John Hall on a personal level. Seemingly he's active on the forums, so I would ask people to keep maintain decorum with any responses. Ta!
Please keep a lid on personal comments guys. Thanks!
2.
Maybe he's indignant.
Maybe he has no idea of the concept of shooting onesself in the foot.
3. With my mod hat on, I would echo Gus's comments regarding restraint and thank everyone for their understanding on this issue. Taking my mod hat off, I'd like to add that if R***ies were the only basses left on the planet, I would give up and play kazoo instead. Or jew's harp, or triangle, or in fact any one of a million other instruments more personally rewarding to play than a R***y.
4. And on that note, I think this is probably as good a time as any to bid a cheerful good-night to this particular saga.
5.
What's VAT?
It stands for 'Vague Additions to the Total'.
6. When I said I'm not enjoying it, I meant because of the wheelbarrow thing. Bloody wheelbarrows, they really annoy me, sitting there all smug with their one bloody wheel, daring you to fill them with stuff. And the ball ones are even worse. And bloody yogurt too. Why o why o why? And so on.
7.
the best thing that can possibly happen now is that this saga comes to an end.
I thought it already had. Really not enjoying this one.
8. My Status developed an identical crack to that, it was dead easy to fix. I got some Titebond 3 wood glue, diluted it with a little water so it was runny, and flooded the crack with it -- the capilliary attraction draws it in. Clamped it shut and a few hours later hey presto.
9. God, I am so jealous of you guys. There are some beautiful basses on this thread. IMHO, the TRBs are possibly the finest factory basses money can buy.
10. What would I do with £1,000? Make a miniscule dent in my overdraft, I expect.
11.
Hi guys, been after a musicman for a while now
Really? You should have said
12. Godwin's Law fulfilled in only 34 posts, that's pretty good going "Not good enough I'm afraid, tell them too sue and be damned" is a very easy thing to say when you're not the site owner and you're not the one onto whose doormat a lawyer's letter would drop.

Decal or No

My bitsa P has a 70s Fender P decal on the headstock (of its Squier Jazz neck), i put it there because i just fancied it really. It looked better than blank wood and when i bought the decal off ebay there were no Fecker ones on there. Its never going to fool anyone who knows the first thing about basses anyway. If i ever sell the bass i'll probably sand the decal off first.
14. Anything with 'Yamaha' on the headstock. Unbeatable VFM in my umble pinion.
15.
In my old band, we had a three song Rolling Stones block - Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Women and Start Me Up. I would tune out, daydream for a bit and then tune back in 10 minutes later to find my hands had played the entire section without any input from my brain at all. I cannot communicate how much I hate the Rolling Stones.
Oh thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. I was starting to think I was the only person in the world who hates them as much as I do.
16. I picked up my first five about 20 years ago and apart from a couple of oh-bum-i-wanted-to-play-a-G-but-that's-a-D moments early on, I took to it like a duck to water and never looked back. I occasionally play a 4 and have no problem swapping between the two at all.
17. Totally brand new 4-string 45-105 set, never removed from pack. £16 posted.
18. Blimey mate, are you an ex-Dink now?

20. Please, not the 23rd/24th as I'm probably working that weekend.
21. Anything with the word 'YAMAHA' on the headstock. Unbeatable VFM.
22. Well i hope you lot are bloody satisfied. Since i first read this thread, every time ive gone anywhere near a bass ive been instantly launching into Rio. I guess its all good ghost note practice but its turned into a total bass-earworm. Just as well i like the song or it'd drive me mad!
23. Three speaker cables, mains lead and two guitar leads all live in a kids-PE-kit type bag (50p from charity shop) which travels in the back of the amp rack case. Two more guitar leads, my homemade Bass Pod cable-snake and spare Pod power supply all travel in the front pocket of the Pod carry bag. All cables have velcro ties, everything is disturbingly neat
