  1. Yeah its not a 'direct 'replacement in the sense that the 50's style plate has fewer holes but it never bothered me that I had a spare screw or two. so to reiterate this WILL fit a standard p bass in terms of size and layout but it has 11 screw holes instead of the now standard 13 unless you have a 50'sRI or a bass with 11 screw holes! Cheers for the nudge LukeFRC
  2. As it say's in the title Available immediately for a mere £30 delivered. Go on! Treat you're P bass to a new frock
  3. Up for grabs is my Fulltone Bass Drive - a very well respected and versatile pedal from Mr Fuller! I notice this isnt listed on his site any more?? Well not on the main products page at least. Its the MOSFET version which has the dual mini toggle switches to fine tune the tones from modern to vintage and select the function be it drive or clean boost. I've used this pedal exclusively for about 2 years and its solid as a rock. The price includes an Aguilar 18v power supply (which cost me £25 new) It works perfectly with the pedal and is in tip top condition - All in price including postage is £115 - think of the money it'll save you in Duracel Pro's!! Get in touch! Pictures will follow - gonna give it a bit of a clean up so its nice and pretty first Oh and just to say: Price is final on this one folks as I'm not keen to split - I have no use for the 18v psu for anything else at the moment. Cheers, Gizzle Dizzle
  4. Check the neck plate - all p basses made this year have this neck plate to celebrate 60 yrs.
  5. Bought a preamp. Superbly packaged and as described. Next day delivery and a nice phone chat. Top bloke and deal with confidence!
  6. Looks nice with the black plate. This is a nice bass - had the pleasure of trying it out last week and its everything you want in a P bass. The S-1 does change the tone but you'll decide pretty early on if you prefer one tone or the other - it is a P bass after all! Bump
  7. I'll take the head
  8. Bought a pedal from cpt'n Black! Sweet deal and pedal was as described - he even managed to hand deliver the pedal due to just happening to be local that particular day!
  9. I'd say flats too but on some track where I use distortion on the entire song the rounds do work better but overall I'd say flats all the time - played ina 3 piece 'punk' band and got complimented my the sund guy for my tone - best bass sound all night - it was a p bass with flats. Currently using either D'Addario Chromes or LaBell Deep Talkin flats and just about to try some out on a Big Al hopefully with some EQ'ing I can get the zing for the distorted tune as mentioned above. Try them!
  10. Killer bass, fine neck, killer passive tones and massive eq when in active. Not a complicated bass to operate so dont be put off by buttons and knobs. It actually makes perfect sense on this bass. Oh yeah and its an absolute steal!
  11. Without going into all the fine details of just how much effort this fine young man will go to to make sure things go right let me give you one example.. "I'll catch the next train to Edinburgh to hand deliver the bass as the couriers messed up" Needless to say that dealing with Chris has been as transparent and well informed a deal as anyone could wish to do. Once things looked to be off schedule due to courier issues he stepped in and did what needed to be done behind the scenes, arranging for alternative delivery times etc etc Chris you are a testament to customer service and have put most major retailer I've dealt with in the past to shame You wanna start your own courier service fella you'd be winning awards left right and centre for customer service. If Chris is selling something you fancy just do the deal - it will be hassle free. All the best with the 5 string quest
  12. Met Sam today. Really nice guy and came from Glasgow to do the deal. Top bloke and I wish you continued success with the production. Deal with confidence!
  13. I'd love to play one of these old basses just to see if my hand would fit around the neck The GAS to have one might be beaten by the sheer impracticality of not being able to physically play it Still though something alluring about a bass thats been played in for 50 years or so!
  14. A little bit left field but I heard a great statement recently on some online video The guy said there is no such thing as wrong notes - its just sometimes the case your not playing the notes someone elese wants to hear or expected. I guess that means the band aren't right for you and maybe a band of guys who are more in tune with you would be better....maybe after a short break of a month or two? If you're in a bit if a dip with it all just walk away for a bit and concentrate on doing the other things you enjoy. Read a book kick back to some cool tunes take up power walking!! The desire/fun will return, just don't get hung up on it now and when the time is right you can just pick up and boogie

  20. So we just finished cleaning up the audio on these and will e releasing them over the slow few months ahead (exams and hoildays!) Have a listen and if you likey subscribe via facebook twitter etc for updates of the next ones - there will be 6 videos in total starting with the one linked below! Feedback appreciated....... but be gentle or at the very least constructive and yes we know there were some mistakes so if it sounds obvious we've already agonised over it Thanks! 21. Just awake from night shift bump!
  22. Too kind Its a looker - I normally change the p/g depending on the gig - local muso's think I have 3 p basses one with a black guard, one tort and the gold
  23. Had a look today. Nice wee set up but the cab, a Vox Foundation with 1x18 (I believe) was struggling with the output - poss new speaker needed. The head would need some work as it was cutting out at times and again this could be a speaker issue too. Great low volume tone though - a studio amp for sure and lovely bit of dirt once you give it some welly not that I could really open it up, like I say, might need to go into a better cab for the full effect/force. I'd say its a Little bastard beater and for £250 and a once over by a good tech it's well worth the punt if for no other reason than to play Sabbath riffs all day long on some vintage valve gear Only minus is no D.I out (I'm kidding!!) Marco be good to hear it into the 2x15 you have.
