Anyone etching?

Yeah I can see the looks I'll get in Maplin's with my Northern Irish accent here in Edinburgh. "Gee us a bag 'a Ferric Chloride mucker!"
2. Be interested to know how much an unmolested one of these goes for!

Anyone etching?

As it says above I have a couple of copper image etches (I've no idea if thats the correct name for it) that I'd like to have etched. I'd be willing to contribute to the cost of having it done - I'm thinking about getting a kit but was looking to give 'self building' a go first before buying a heap of gear to do the job. If anyone can help PM and I'll get in touch for a chat. Cheers G

Feedback for sk8

Another happy customer. Cheers Mike
7. If you could get this to Edinburgh I'd have it! Not the first time I'm told you that tho If you happen to know someone going north with room in their van, bus, helicopter PM me Gavin
8. +1 I'll echo what a couple of others have said in that try EQ and flats. Much cheaper than a whole new pick up! If you think of the wide range of players who use a Stingray they have very different versions of one core sound. It's either big and fat like Mr Edwards of up in your grill like Mr Flea. The strings will play a part along with technique plus there are some good comparison videos on youtube with round wounds and flats. comparetheflatwound.com
9. Returning from holiday soon bump!
10. Great little practice amp - ideal for home use. Input for MP3 player, headphone out and a great wee 8" speaker which is surprisingly punchy. Peavey know what they are doing and build solid reliable gear - just ask anyone still using their bass gear from the 70's I'm mainly using my irig and a Bose speaker for headphone practice and this is being sadly neglected. If you jam at home/tour bus/work with acoustic guitars, banjo, madolin ors uke's this is for you. 40quid plus p+p
11. Hey got a hard case I'd ideally like to trade for a decent gig bag. I was originally from Oztralia I believe - I'm not familiar with the BG brand so that story could be true. It's in top condition and currently housing a 5 string bass so shouold accommodate most peoples needs. Looking for 30 quid but ideally a trade for soft case in top condition. Cheers
12. Legion? More like Legend Top guy and even though it wasn't as big as I thought it was it all worked out in the end! Oooooh Matron!
13. Pictures added bump Thanks for all the PM's guys. Hope the pic's help some of you make up your mind
14. Phone died at the room so no pic's just yet. On night shift this week but should be able to sneak over to the practice space before work tomorrow night. Its the MM3 model and a google image search should get you a generic idea of the look of it - cant save the images from thsi work pc so a real pic will follow soon..... An honest fair review in the link below http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=2051&type=bass
15. Should have them up later today - off to the practice room at about 3pm to get the snaps!
16. Just put brand new strings on this and its playing quite nice. Its a budget bass but has that punchy MM sound and a responsive EQ - you turn the knob it actually changes your sound unlike some other budget basses. Comes in a fitted hard case which is pretty nice. Pic's to follow later today! After £250 for the lot - P+P should be reasonable. Some guys on the forum have tried these and their quality belies the budget price. If you wanna dabble in 5 stringing this is the perfect bass to take the plunge with. Nice feeling neck, low action and good punchy tone. Cheers
17. As it says in the title. Someone local to Edinburgh would be ideal as it would cut out shipping etc. Drop me a PM if interested.
18. That hairy girl from The Magic Numbers had a really pleasing style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s29S51KSbiQ...feature=related
19. My lady loaned me the cash to get a 5 string to try out - on the understanding that after a few months gigging with it and seeing if it worked I'd either sell it on and keep my 4 string or sell the 4 and keep the 5. So decision day came and she got all 'hurt' that I was selling the 5 (I'm guessing because she loaned me the cash and wanted to be a part of the my music side of my social life) yet she constantly complained when it was in the flat and referred to it as the beast. Funny how perception can be so different from the reality. Still for those of us that have been with our girlfriend, partner, bird etc etc I think we have an unspoken understanding that this is what we do and they suffer/enjoy accordingly On the plus side my lady is finishing a Masters so she enjoys the free time while I bang out the tunes. Win win as she is beautiful, understanding and intelligent!
20. All points taken - this was just a rough draft certainly on my part but I'll pass on the comments Cheers guys
21. Hey BC Brigade My old house mate found out her work buddy was a producer/hip hop nut who gave me this track to add some bass to. This is a rough sketch with a couple of timing issues *ahem* but I think its the final version Im gonna bounce back to him as my effort (once I have re-recorded it that is!) Before I do so I'd really appreciate feedback and constructive criticism. Its been played on a P bass with the tone right off, flatwound strings and I was going for my idea of a '70's tone'. I have added some EQ via garageband for what I think is a punchy, yet fat, tone. I know the mix isn't that great but he'll be getting a raw file to add and mix down as he sees fit so from that aspect its not an issue - this is just a quick sketch. I felt the original track was repetitive, but not in a bad way - its a great track- so I wanted to try and create three distinct sections playing something different on each pass kinda thing- a riff, a solid line and then something with a bit of movement adding to the 'drama'........ Well either that and I just tried to be groovy Thanks in advance folks and don't mind the 70's pic's. I had to add something to make it a bit more interesting Plus its only available via this link for now as its a demo track.
