1. Hey guys just asking a trusted gear friend what the going rate is on a 410 2nd hand. I'll get a post up as soon as i know. Also where are you guys based as Im north of the border so shipping/transport could be an issue unless you have a van and some free time Thanks for the interest!
2. Ok cab is going to a new home Flight case available for Ampeg 410. Top condition!
3. Get onto glasgow gumtree over the last fw days they have had a HBE UFO (Ultimate Fuzz Octave) though I think its for guitar plus a blue box. Search a little further back and you'll find a full tone 70's pedal, again fopr guitar but fuzz only -might be edinburgh based that one. In a bit of a rush and on the mobile so i cant get any links posted up just now hope its useful
4. *** The cab has a new home*** Thanks for all yoyur PM's but the cab is gone! Ampeg SVT 410 HLF (Classic) USA with flight case. Not sure Im asking the right amount Higher/lower?? b This is not the less expensive B-series B-410. As I play mainly in a 6 piece this is taking up too much space ad weight to transport ( with drums, stage piano, 3 guitars and 3 amp etc etc) On the look out for something of at least equal output 500w minimum in either 210 or 212 configuration. I have a potential swap in the pipeline depending if this will fit into my mates tiny toy car ( it wont with the flight case for sure but I woud prefer to sell/trade them as a unit if I can secure buyers for them individually or as a pair) Pic's up tomorrow evening. 5. My hands are held high in accepting any confusion caused.
6.
Hes already put a price in his post.
Sorry I just saw the new price not what he was asking - must have been an oversight on my part. My apologies......
7. With much respect all for sale basses must be posted with a price, as per the amendment to the conditions of posting, so if you could do us all a favour and add that to the title it would be very helpful and save you from any more irritating questions. I do hope you appreciate my candour.
8. Can I just say....That guy is responsible for marketing?!?!?!?!?! Here is an amp called the Little Bastard and he says it pretty??? Douche!
9. Just a note on the Tone Hammer When you engage the drive ( i wish more pedals would use the word engage ) it acts as a boost so be weary of that but the TH is a great device and I got it initially as I didnt have an amp and would use it for my sound - the boost was the killer for me as I needed dirt too and it was too much a jump in the band context. Recorded its awesome with a great mid control as someone mentioned I'd get one again if it appeared for the right price tho and use it for everything except dirt
10. In Edinburgh but if your happy to cover shipping which would be between £6-£10 then i can get it to ya in a few days. If your in town come over for a rattle on it in my practice room.
11. Got this for a two piece acoustic and bass thing I was doing while on placement as part of my nursing degree. The course has finished and I have secured a job phew! but due to start dates and monthly pay its gonna be April before I get my first wage - thats right f**kin April! Some gear will have to go to keep me in lentils and rice for the next few months....... which leads me nicely to this . I really dig this little guy. Plenty loud for small gigs, 4 user definable presets and fantastic flexibility -lines in's and outs- for bigger shows via DI, Great for silent head phone practice with MP3/CD input and very compact. Also great for poping up on a table/chair at ear height while noodling away. Heavy-ish but very portable I took mine on the to bus the acoustic gig no sweat. Its a regretful sale but I can practice through my computer with headphones and no 'smaller' gigs on the horizon as well as that distant pay cheque! Fully boxed as new and ready to go to a new home with all manuals included. Shipping wont be a problem but its at buyers expense and it is a very solid and heavy wee thing (due to the Line 6' brain' unit I'd imagine!) approx 10kg Cheers I'll try and get some pics up - but its a mint condition standard S110 as per web site in the link provided Cheers for reading, k Blurb below is from the site and a link: http://uk.line6.com/lowdownstudio110/ 4 Incredible Bass Amp Models: Clean, R&B, Rock, and Grind - (actually 6 including synth, which isnt that bad, and a 'hidden' Marshall model) Full-time Opto Compressor XLR Direct Out With Line 6’s exclusive A.I.R.™ processing Pre Amp Out 4 Programmable Model Memories Headphone Out Jam Along CD/MP3 1/8-inch Input 10-inch Speaker 75 Watts Dimensions: 24lbs, 12"L x 12"W x 12"H
12. Dingwaller You got any sound clips - just saw a little bit in Bass player about the 'pedal' version. Be good to hear one in action on a P
13. I was gonna say the Fralins were meant to be a little 'hotter than the Lakland's own so check to make sure what you have in there but you beat me to it. Tone Hammer is useful but the dirt channel is a boost and its not useful as a dual functioneq/dirt box live for this reason as the volume jump is too drastic unless thast exactly what your after and the guitarist can handle the gut rumble - thats certainly what I found and regrettable moved my old tone hammer for this reason tho it's great for recording etc. Run your bass thru your regular gig rig reset the eq to flat and consider what you like about the tone and what needs more oomph. Our ears can get very used to a particular sound and its strange listening to another rig after a short break. My BG has a Lakland pick up and its a good solid P tone. I haven't experienced a lack of clarity in higher notes but Im rarely up the dusty end anyway. I know East are gonna be bringing out the P Retro soon and it might be a good option - as easy to fit as a new pick up and could give the added bite built into the bass without having extra stuff to hump about and as far as I know his stuff is built to fit the current tone cavity so no machining to your lovely Double D. All possible options and I may well go down the P Retro route just to heave what it can add - though to be fair I may get a little Squire and test it in there first! Good luck on you hunt for tone.......... oh wait I think I just saw it run that way just behind you!
14. The only sensible advice you can get from an internet forum is go try out as many cabs/amp's basses or what ever it is your trying to get info on. There may well be scientific reasons why some set ups wont work, many may have personal reasons and know why a particular set up didnt work for them but until you try it out and hear for yourself how you gonna know? Its a noble thing to try to give and get the advice of peers on a good set up and most people will try and guide you in relation to your request and their interpretation of it but really its like saying Im thinking of painting my wall red - any advice on a good shade? Oh I have this shade called September Sunrise which is amazing (hyperbollic's) but my room is south facing and I only have 'daylight' lightbulbs so that plays a part or my shade is called September Sunset and about two months a year in summer its striking but the rest of the year I am tormented with changing it and then bang its those two months again....and it beautiful We often think that everyone else has better tone that we do or think we should have the latest piece of tone defining kit - Keeping up with the Tones' I call it and Im totally guilty of it too and have lost more hours drooling over gear and sound files too. Make peace with your tone, set everything flat and just re work it. Find a cab that works for your ears/back/boot/tone/style or whatever and just be glad we're not designers or we'd never get past selecting the font to use let alone rant about it Just my opinion of course now what should I replace my ampeg 410 with in a downsizing effort 210 212 or 115
15. Sound control - before they went bust -had one for sale in a 'go on make me an offer' manager special. Dont think they could shift if even then...... They sound great but have a big body shape - got a nice mid hump know that really adds to the sound. I would say if you like the look\size and the money is right get it.
16. i got a Line 6 Studio 110 recently - great little box that allows for headphone practice and can run a mp3/cd into it for silent play along. Good for small acoustic gigs too and a rather solid feeling practice amp.
17. Once I started to play in my second band my sound changed overnight as it had to fill a different sonic space and the bass playing provided a different 'role' in the band if that makes sense?? I play in two bands - one is a 3 piece punk/rock affair (but in a good way) I have a much more present in your face sound bright switch on and treble up but not that horrible 'american punk' bass tone - the Aggie bright adds sparkle not ear bleed, bass booted a little and a healthy dose of mids. Its one classy sound.... naturally and I mostly play with a pick for the added edge it gives. In the 6 piece its a similar thing to what someone else said earlier in the thread. I need to sit in the mix with 2 or 3 guitars, a keys player etc so my sound and role in this band is different to the 3 piece. Pus I play with my fingers in this band and vary the dynamics, hand position etc to fit in with the layers of guitar and keys. I have the rig set up differently and have my sound focused to support the guitars/band. so there
18. For all you home recording MarkBass fans...... Just downloaded this (demo version) and have been messing about with it for the last hour - lots of fun !!! Makes me wanna go check out some real MarkBass gear and if the people at Aguilar and Mesa are considering following the Ampeg and now MarkBas example...... http://www.markbass.it/products.php?lingua...t=5&vedi=93 Enjoy!
19. For all the talk of Mesa unreliability....... it does look very attractive...oh but the price (which will be high)
20. and here's my bit....... I think many of us were just shocked/stunned etc at the departure of what you would expect a 'U2' bass to look like. I thought a Lakland deal was on the cards with the departure of the DJ model and the positive comment's on the 'Adam Clayton DJ' As for his playing I have to echo those who say he's a great example of what a bass player should do. Many more progress to other things but I think the majority of people would want to listen to U2 over Jerry was a race car driver! I like bass to sound like bass - not a cross between timpani, bass and a busted guitar - but thats just me I wonder if AC dreams of working in an office as he stands there in front of millions of people plodding away on his bass
21. Missed out on the GuitarGuitar Tech Amp sale a while back - was hoping to get a 500w 210 or 212 to replace my Ampeg 410HLN. It sounds first rate but it's a big f**ker and with a 6 piece band space is at a premium....... Im looking for suggestions for a good alternative. I play mostly rock in a 6 piece with up to 3 guitars and keys and also in a 3 piece punk/rock type thing so the ampeg does the sound I like but Im after a smaller package. ooh matron! Im running an aguilar pre so their cabs do appeal and would be a good match Im sure. Anyone else been in this boat recently? And what is the price for a US Ampeg 410 SVT Classic cab 2nd hand these days? Some views please folks. Cheers in advance *HLN was the first coding to denote the use of neutrik speakons I think and is not a typo!
22. Welcome and for fear of echoing already sound advice.... For a Jazz style I'd go Lakland Skyline DJ or JO for more vintage sound. Necks are fantastic and you can find them for good money 'pre loved'. They deserve attention! Do make some time to visit one store that has a good selection of basses. I know time can be tight but if a long drive will get you someplace to try out 6 or 7 different bass builders and whatever they have to offer its one day well spent and you will come home with a new bass that you a/b'ed through the same rig and you can be happy it wasn't too impulsive a purchase

Soundblox Pro

I think these are for debut at the NAMM show on the 14th The link below will have all the details you need. As for UK suppliers Im not sure who carries Source Audio gear but Im guessing ProGuitarShop will stock them and they ship worldwide and will try not to screw ppl on duties etc. They also have a version without the on board EQ which will cost less but should still allow the multi-band goodness for those synthy sounds. I do not work for SA or PGS before anyone asks Hope that helps guys http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issu..._NAMM_2010.aspx
