Thank you I have no real reason to sell/ trade this other than Fender gas. If it stays Im still on a win win situation. I should mention the bass had a pro set up and is currently set up to Fender Custom Shop spec's!

Hey folks I've been smitten by the new Fenders! Been trying out the new American Standards while one the look out for a second P Bass that I was gonna trick out with a P retro. Initially I was after a Squire or MIM but having tried the new USA's the neck feels great and I think I prefer it over my Lakland which is a fantastic bass both in terms of build quality and sound quality. I've grew up playing Fenders and these new American's feel about as comfortable to me as any I've tried before. I'd choose this over any other neck I've tried recently - just works for me! My BG is fitted with the Lakland/Hanson vintage pick up which, lets not forget, is a hand wound, custom pick up not some bog standard affair here. I've used it to record and out live and it has a great sound and very responsive. Sounds old and dark with flats and modern and bright with rounds but it is a p bass right The Bob is still in excellent condition and has few, if any marks. Its a sunburst with tort plate and looks like the Fender 62 RI or the Jamerson bass. I can mail pics so just PM if interested. I would sell the bass but would need to see what the going rate is - I'd guess about £650. As these are the same new as the Fenders I'd say a straight swap would be my idea of a fair deal. My big plan is still to fit the P retro to the new bass opening up the tonal range which is handy as I am only able to bring one bass to gigs these days Ideally I'm after an Oly White Fender with rosewood 'board and a tort scratch plate. Its the new Am Std from 2008 onwards with the new neck, HMV bridge, improved case etc I'd also swap for a sunburst/rosewod but not any other basses at the mo - I've had Jazzes before but prefer the P profile and I've also had an old '78 P which sounded great but was a monster for my wee hands. Please don't offer any cash and trades for other models as I will choose not to reply on this occasion. Harsh but there you go:) Thanks for reading. G

Hey guys and girls Up for sale is a Lakland Skyline BG (44-64) pick guard. I changed mine to a gorgeous tort and have no plans to go back to white. Once you go tort.......! I'd consider a trade for a really nice Stingray plus cash from you I'm moving flat and it's one extra thing I don't need to take with me. £20 posted No pic at the minute but needless to say its a standard vintage looking Aged white guard, or mint as they are also known with shielding over the control knobs on the reverse. OK so the tax code at work has been wrong for the last few months.... Lets see if the tax man will be civilised and give me a nice wad of cash to get this off your hands. Gather round gather round, all hold hands and lets send the nice vibes to HMRC....if only the vibes were coming from a P bass they'd cut thru the mix enough to be heard right!?! It's a lovely bass and I firmly believe that these 'new' Fenders will be the classics of the future - they are hawt !

Hey Guys and Gals, I got this bass a while back and have been tricking it out to my spec but the time has come to move on. The bass is a Tanglewood short scale hollowbody. I had all the wiring removed and replaced, I'd say ripped out but it was a very careful, considered process due to the tight working spaces in the cavity. Basically what was done to the bass includes: -New Switchcraft input jack -New CTS pots One vol and dual 'stacked' tone control -All new wiring -DiMarzio Model One neck Humbucker The original neck single coil (large humbucker size) is included and has an output of 12.3 if I remember correctly and sounds big. The Model One is a tad more balanced with the bridge mini humbucker IMO. The bass also has a really nice bridge which is very similar the new Fender High Mass bridge. Its soild and the bass has great sustain because of it. This bass plays great, is super light and sounds really warm and fat. Works with many styles from acoustic type stuff, blues, jazz, roots right through to classic rock tones - I defy you to play Sunshine of your Love on this thing and not smile It currently fitted with Thomastik Infled flat wound strings which sound really nice on this. I mainly use this bass on two tracks live and play it alot at home due to its easy portability. The live tracks are both quite different; one is a distortion heavy tune and through my Bass Drive it sounds wonderfully thick and heavy. The TI strings never sounded good with dirt on my old Jazz bass but on this its a perfect marriage. The other track I play it on is an acoustic style thing that gets heavy and the bass works in both guises. Warm and thick with the acoustic sounds and thick and nasty (but but in a good way). Its also my sitting on the couch watching the telly/blues bass and is a lot of fun to play in general. Reason for sale I play in a 6 piece band and when getting to and from gigs space is always at a premium. I love the tone of Thumpy but I'd like to get the new John East P Retro and fit it into a nice MIM P bass. If the P Retro is my thing I'll move it into my Lakland and keep the MIM P as back up at home and the Lakland will be my passive/active one stop bass. Its either that or get a Stingray but thats a bit out of my range just now. Digby and I traded on this one and it came to me in great shape. While I have gigged it, its still in great condition and more versatile than you might first imagine. The mini 'bucker, which is in the classic P position and not right back at the bridge has a nice, aggressive sound, that classic sweet spot P sound with a little something extra due to the hollow construction and the neck is full and warm - what a bass should sound like really! Basically I'd like to trade for a good solid P Bass or I'd like £350 cash, paypal or preferable by bank transfer but we can chat on the phone and work out whats best for us both. I think the price is fair for the high build quality and great condition of the bass. I'll add better pic's soon once i get moved and dig out the camera The bass is in Edinburgh and if you're local get in touch and come try it out in my practice rooom.
