1. Willing to split the items as I've had some good offers on both
2. Just an update the item is based in the UK and it can be posted UK wide. Come in grab a bargain
3. V4LVE thanks for the bump They are a great unit I have to agree
4. Yeah you can stick it in an effects loop - thats what I've been doing with my SVP pro - bring it to the practice room I use and it bypasses the sh*tty eq in the amps that the rooms have. It would do the same - most bass amps especially have a pre amp in and thats where I would run it. Its my guitar player thats selling it and he wants £125 and will ship to the UK Thanks for getting in touch
5. Great tube pre-amp that will give you some meaty classic tones in a 1U space The TG and TB are designed for guitar and bass respectively but a quick look at the peavey manuals for both will show they are identical in what they offer for tone shaping and switches . These units provide a really tone that can be tweaked to you exact liking There is pre gain and 3 band eq and also post gain with another 3 band eq shaping offering a lot of tweaking for all you tone hounds out there In great condition with standard peavey tubes which have been well received ...see link further down. Features low and hig inputs and low and high outputs. a gain boost, thick and bright swicth. This one has also been modded with an external switch jack added in the rear which so a 2 button foot switch will control the thick and gain switchs. However if you dont use this jack the switchs on the front panel are un affected. I dont have a foot switch as I normally leave these set in the one position. These don't come up often but they are a very versatile piece of kit. Peavey is built to last and this thing has seen many gigs - if its reliability and a great tube tone your after then this is the kit for you! Pic to follow this evening. Check the link below where they give links to the manual, harmony central and discuss the difference between the two units and list schematics to mod the unit. http://forums.vintageamps.com/viewtopic.ph...932&start=0 . This is lifted straight from a Harmony Central post.... "Most people may not realize this, but the TB Raxx and TG Raxx units are one in the same! Peavey maximized their R&D and production costs by producing a single preamp they coulod market to both bass and guitar players without alteration. The only difference between the TB and TG units are the labels painted on the front panel! Read the schematics...they are identical! When used with guitar you can get very, very close to a Fender clean tone. Moreso than any other preamp I've found, including various Mesa Boogies. Cranking the gain get's in Marshall JCM900 territory, with slightly less gain. I use a Blues Driver in front of it and it sounds awesome! The EQ sections are both very responsive. This unit really shines when used a bass preamp. You can dial in a full, clean tone and add just enough distortion to help you cut through, like a Geddy Lee, slight distortion or crank it up like RATM or Faith No more. These are really awesome, versatile units especially if you play both bass and guitar like I do. Any Questions?
6. Well if your interested in trading after a few more days of playing with it I have a Fulltone bass drive Mosfet - very versatile with clean boost two types od drive and a separate boost too!- plus a really nice carl martin delay the Red repeater and I'd be happy to do a trade with cash I play a TCE RH450 and having the nova in my fx loop would be a match made in Heaven. I really dig their stuff! good luck!
7. PM'd you John sorry for the delay
8. how is the neck on this one? fat as a hen or more manageable ?
9.
Bump for this fantastic Effects unit..............
Be interested in a swap for the G Natural unit? Plus the UK price new for Nova is £449 No offence intended but just to let you know
10. Ho there someone has a really cool Superman avatar with the bass clef repalcing the superman 'S' If thats you can you tell me is that available as a tee shirt print or is it a custom design? I've a gig coming up soon for a friends birthday and he is a huge superman geek and I think I'd like to try and get this tee shirt made up for it. If you know who's avatar that is please direct them to this post. thanks g
11. ok as a final purge to get some Aguilar love I will post my rebel head. This is the head only and is a sweet little piece of gear. Not sure I wanna sell it as i can take it anywhere for pracitse, jamming go straight to my laptop etc The lure of tubes has taken me tho and I do wanna try out some new gear - should be joining a new band in the next few weeks so it'd be nice to have some shiny new gear too. Serious offers folks and I'll reply to everyone before evil bay gets a look in. No pics just now as the amp is with a friend who is thinking about getting it for his studio but its a first come first served deal far as Im concerned. Shipping isn't a problem as it soo light! get in touch with an offer thanks gavin
12. So this is a rare wee beast and I can imagine not too many of you guys have seen one of these in the wild! Fender Bassman 20 Bass combo Hand wired PTP tube head 1 X 15 sealed speaker cabinet 2 X 6L6 2 X 12AX7 (OR 7075'S I think Fender called them) £400 and thats pretty set Im afraid rated about 18watts but puts out somewhere around the 30-35 mark when cranked. Fender USA cira 1984 - actually it has to be 1984 as only about 580 of these were made during that year when Paul Rivera was working at Fender. Its got that great tube tone at lower volumes and will kick out SVT like grit through a Marshall 4x12. I've used this for home practice, jamming with singer songwriters and its great for those smaller gigs and acoustic nights when you just don't need your 4x10 and 6U rack. The 1x15 pumps out a nice full tone. Before I got it it lived in a studio where it was the go to amp for recording guitar and bass and at a recent rehearsal with a new band the guitarist hooked it up to her 4x12 and cursed me that a bass player should have this amp when its such a great guitar tone. This is not one of the new Fender Bassman amps and needs more playing than I can give it. Plus tha cash will go towards some new toys. Hate to see it go ask its my practise amp but needs must. So much gear so little time....... Get in touch and I'll answer what I can. Im not after any trades unless you have an Aguilar DB 680 hiding under your bed you don't use. Thanks for reading Vitamin G
13. Hey up for grabs is the Fulltone bass drive. You know the score - hand built with boost button works as a drive and has a comp boost works as a clean boost - makes my Lakland DJ4 sound active with this engaged. Great feature laden pedal but Im looking to get a over haul of my rig and there is an Aguilar pre lurking about these forums somewhere I'd like to try. Boxed with 18v power supply £130 Chuch!
14. I'm only going to sell as a complete package but thanks for the interest. If I sell it I need to get something else or else I won't be heard and moving only one of them would be no good. Now moving on to the second part of your post....................... Thanks again for your interest. g
oooooooooooooooooh if i had the money..... i almost NEED an SVP pro is the Rack for sale? What rack is it out of interest? also would you let the SVP pro go for £190 if i gave you a BRAND NEW Laney RB2 practise amp, which i had valued yestereday at £78, its just had the fan and heat sink replaced and has only minor wear from the guitar in jack and the corners are a little scratched, I would suggest sell it on =D Regards Adam (P.S i will not be offended if you say the second part of this post is ridiculous)
16. Ampeg valve bass pre + SWR power amp rig Ampeg SVP-Pro all valve preamp. Same as the SVT Pro head. USA ‘blue lines’ series – the good ones! Here’s a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V2HBtC8CYk skip ahead about 50 sec its not my vid but it is the pre in action SWR Power 750 – 750w biampable pwer amp. Weeks old. Here’s a link: http://www.swrsound.com/products/search.ph...rtno=4405500000 SVPs go for £250 every time – even the Vietnamese ones - and for good reason. Especially as they are now discountinued. I haggled the SWR power amp down to £400 from £600 then had it serviced, so would like to see my £400 back as it is a total bargain. £700 gets them in a nice rack case.
