    EBS-Freak Yeah its fender 4 & 5 that I play. Got some nice compliments on my tone the other night at a gig too - from a drummer no less and that was using the P5.

    For whats its worth I use DR HiBeams on my 5 string P bass as they are alleged to have a little more stiffness to them and I cartainly can feel them putting up a littel more resistance than my 4 string DR's. See ed friedlands great a/b on DR strings where he takes a load of DR brand strings and does comparisons and give a frank and interesting account on the differences with audio clips.     OK so I got my solder iron and on the look out for good kits with a view to making my buddy a killer dirt box for his birthday ( and maybe the two guitarists in my band a s a surprise ) As well as the DIYstompbox and BYOC sites where can you recommend a noob to visit or get some good pedal schematics.     Just a warning I bought a SWR power amp at a too good to be true price - it blew and then there was a whole hassle on getting the part etc. GG bought the gear from Fender as no return meaning that Fender wouldnt cover warranty but GG offered warranty via their own tech. After numerous dates for when it would be ready I ended up getting a full refund as it was proving too much hassle. Can I just say GG were great to deal with and weren't the issue but I'd ask if this is a refurb and get full clarity on why its such a good deal. I spent a few months without a rig and it was very frustrating especially as it was another guy who blew the amp having used it withouot my permission nor informng me it had blown! Be wary of too good to be true deals and always ask the shop the background.

    Im in a band with many ladies tho not a girl band!! We recently did a mash up with the riff to My Sharona but to the chord changes/verse from Toxic by Brittany Spears. The chorus was the Topxic chords and vocal then back into the sharona riff. Then we dropped in the Love Shack break down with the nice littel bass bit.You know the"Bang bang bang on the door" bit. Then it was back into the toxic for the outro. Sounded killer and people liked it. It works better than it sounds but we did have 4 vocals/harmoony going on too which helped I might have some live footage of it from an up coming gig so I'll direct you there if you're interested in putting it to you're bands vote

    OK So I was in aguitar store yesterday having a look about and I am convinced I saw a new way huge pedal but cant find it lsited anywhere - I rememebr it had two little tweakable controls like other pedals in the current line up and it appeared to be a sweepable mid control. Anyone seen it yet? I may have to go and hunt it down tomorrow for a demo unless it was all a dream... oh hang on Bobby Ewing's at the door.....

    I've an EBS valve drive that'll get you there. It's all valve dirt, classic tone stack and in combination with your amp (a TC by the looks of your sig - a little tweaking to the mid range controls) and you'll get a pretty frickin' good OD sound with plenty of oomph! Just a thought

    Oly White P5 Rosewood/maple neck. Its got that great P tone only with the extra B sting. Very nice tension and I've fitted DR LoRiders for their extra 'stiffness' and this low B feels as good as a 35' scale IMHO but you may differ. Comes in original new style hard cases and are pretty sexy looking units I'll get pic's up over the next few days. The P5 is all original and certainly retains that more 'modern' sound. As with any good P bass the tone control actually functions as you'd want and will go from bright (it's got new strings so that helps) when wide open to more classic across its taper. Guitarists talk all the time about volume knob control for adjusting the response of the guitar - a Good P bass tone control will do the same for your bass tone. Two beauties and each one has its own personality. Its like a pair of pretty twins - how do you decide which one to date? Both are tasty but each one has that little spark which draws you in. £700 for P5 PM for pic's which I'll update over the coming days.

    Its been bump-ed The bass gremlin is sold - awaiting funds to clear - bit all wrapped up and ready to fly! EBS still for grabs and open to a sensible offer but no trades on this one cash needed just like everyone else I suppose!

    I use the Eden power amp and it's been 100% reliable. Enough volume for my needs and really nifty tone controls to help maximise your sound. Its for sale only due to needing something smaller.
