  1. I moved mine on as it just wasn’t as comfortable as the Super P. I enjoyed it but it wasn’t a match for me. I’ve been spoilt😀
  2. The Simone on here strikes me as the perfect combination of tube/transformer DI but with added eq and just a really solid pedigree. Noble meets Monique kinda thing.
  3. Same basic set up me. Great wee combo the Rumble. I have a Beta but think I’ll get the MkV. Did you try any of the original versions
  4. Any further thoughts and did you have. An earlier version to compare it to? I had my beta (not a MkV) on last nights gig and did enjoy it but it was more as an always on unit for the last set. Sounds great but the added versatility of the MkV is drawing me in!
  5. Check out my for sale ad I’ve a few pedals the Basswitch drive in particular could be great in your trio. Fills in the midrange nicely. Back on topic my revised board might be getting pimped soon… more updates as and when!
  6. Thought I’d a local sale on this but the guys gone cold. Just about 6 months old with soft carry case. Relatively easy life - from bedroom to car boot to gig and home. Stress free life and top condition with strips of 3M dual lock on too woth some extra underneath for power brick (not included) and for hiding my Thumpinator (not included either)! Happy to post in the U.K. or can meet in Edinburgh face to face.
  7. Text deleted due to pedals being sold.
  8. Only the Colourbox v.2 remains JHS Colourbox v.2 £375. Given a brand new circuit with all up to date mods which address some noise issues. Neve style preamp with gain stages and hi/lo gain options. It’s actually a really useful studio tool too. This is a preamp/di/drive which sounds excellent on just about any source. HPF filter is set at 160hz but the semi para eq means you can experiment with the “Pultec trick” of boosting the lows or low mids right where the filter kicks in. Only I have an all tube preamp I’d keep this. Had it paired with an all tube di and it was a killer combination! This is basically brand new! Price includes U.K. shipping. ***Sold- DG - VMT £125 *** ***Sold -SGFX - Beta £90 *** ***Sold - DG - AOmicron £125*** Worksheet from JHS include in pictures
  9. If it’s any help the sound engineer at last nights gig approached me at the end of the second set and told me I had the best bass sound she’s heard in that venue. I was playing a Flea jazz! I’m sure there were other factors but like I said above the ‘64 CS pick ups are a big part of the oomph. She simply described the bass as “just sounding right!” And she had basically nothing to do to the sound she was getting from my board. 🤷
  10. I always hear this as the perfect pedal for a band doing stuff like ‘The Cure’ Playing a Bass VI or 80’s goth band vibes galore.
  11. The flea jazz is a great example of the jazz bass. Neck is slim and it’s real strong point ore the pick ups. Custom shop ‘64’s - you could probably retro fit some high end boutique pick ups into another nitro jazz but I’d say grab a flea or a road worn and make mods if needed from there
  12. A pick will always add something to the top end and cut through more but fingers will add something in the middle. I love a p bass but I’m on a jazz tip just now. I mainly play finger style and the jazz might be less full on but each has their personality. I enjoy the difference from an p and if I played with a pick and some dirt always on I’d sway jazz.
  13. On the list to try out but no budget for pedals these next few months. Trying to off load stuff too.
  14. @Osiris I’ve told you before how good these can sound on bass and Ander is a decent chap. You guys should talk. I’m a big fan of a Tx in a pedal and have to my shame 4 units on my board just now with tx’s in - 2 of hem are just transformers in a pedal 🫢😀
  15. I’d love have my old DJ4 back. Sold it many years ago for a BG4. Had a tort and black scratch plate and sounded great with flats. Good luck - someone is getting a cracker!
  16. What about some daisy chain type leads for the existing power brick? Some low draw pedals could successfully powered this way and it would free up outputs to y-cable the Cali76? I do this with my DC5 powering 7 or 8 pedals from 5 ‘outlets’.
  17. I’ve been using a Basswitch for about 10 yrs. if you only run a couple of fx it’s super useful. There’s a point where it can be a bit a bit redundant if you’ve got too much going on but managing a couple of fx into both loops is where it really shines. I’ve been enjoying an always on compressor and very light drive in the serial loop (always on) and using the switchable loop (which doubles as a boost) to push some other things a little harder. The eq is super clean and really useful too.
  18. No phantom power and the a/b will either give a single instrument the option of EQ bypassed or eq engaged - having two instruments plugged in one will not have access to the eq the other will (example having an active bass into the eq bypassed channel and the passive bass into the EQ channel). That’s likely obvious 😀 all other features are ‘actively on’ so if you have a compressor in the always on loop it remains in the path irrespective of channel A or B. You can’t have two separate signals ‘programmed’ to different outputs.
  19. I nabbed the 110 version about 10 yrs ago… never let me down, sounds great and as said basically an SWR in the same way the new rumble series are basically Genz Benz amp. I’d imagine many gigs could be well serviced with this as a stage monitor.
  20. Pedals added SGFX Beta £95 *sold* Old school in a box pedal. Kinda addictive and you won’t want to turn it off. Works as a ‘clean preamp’ with the gain rolled off but you can definitely hear the mojo and as the gain increases so does the stank! Uh!! Comes with original box. TRex Bass Juice removed I really like this as a low gain always on sound but it can get wild and hairy and features a boost to go from od to full on filth! Another tough call as the tone, mix and gain all work together to really fine tune and dial in your tone with minimal fuss. I think it excelled with a jazz bass tone up full, a smidge of gain and mix about 0900. Balsa I’ve changed the board up and the VMT just edges it for my always in pedal and it works well with the other units on my board. Original box included. Pictures of both to follow - likely this afternoon.
