  1. This pedal sounds amazing. I’d have no use for 98% of what it can do but would love to justify having one. I’d have thought this would have been snapped up already!
  2. How does the pick up sound? Are the AIII magnets a bit smoother?
  3. It’s like dropped d only the B goes down to A for maximum metal 😀… is my guess.
  4. So good to hear stuff in context. Thanks!
  5. This is the fuzz I use and it’s really good. Super versatile and I concur it does sound great with an octave. Only I like to change my setting I’d have gone for the compact version but yeah great fuzz unit.
  6. I’m just playing the one main gig so my board is basically comp, preamp and drive. I’ve a couple of drive pedals because I do use fuzz and it’s a dedicated sound and a general purpose drive which I can change on the fly but I’m lucky as it does a more scooped sounding drive and and also sound more mid forward so it’s essentially a 2 in 1 for my needs. Oh and I’ve an eq pedal (it’s quite specific in what it does - a CAL Funkulator) which allows the voice of the clean and drive to change. I can adjust this on the fly too so I can set it lower to tighten up finger style or wind it up for a more pronounced slap scoop sound- something I do switch between during songs in the set too. I see these huge boards and wonder what sound folk are aiming for but in fairness I play in a band where a solid simple bass sound is all that’s needed but in fairness I probably lack the creativity, time and finances to invest in some of the boards I’ve seen here.
  7. Sweet thanks. I thought that was what he was implying but he did say it was ag the prototype stage so there could be some tweaks. Might have to think about getting one 🤓
  8. Just watching a Guitar Summit video and Sheldon mentions a prototype in the Super P format and “hopes they’ll be a hit” Any news on this or was he simply showing the OG Super P proto? I love the Super P - and I know it won’t be “affordable” in the traditional sense but this is great news, if true, imo!
  9. It sounds great in the demos I’ve heard. I’m sure they’ll introduce bass amps but these things are always aimed at guitarists in the first instance. I’m unlikely to buy one at that price but it’s impressive sounding nonetheless.
  10. This is why we need to build some nuclear power stations in the U.K. 😀
  11. Jule Simone. It has tubes, a fantastic interactive 3 band EQ, it can be set to sound great clean or more aggressively but never harsh or brittle, it has a transformer based DI out which sounds great, it has a boost and the interaction between the Drive and Sensitivity controls mean you can easily and quickly set it to sound right with any bass be that for cleans, to compliment your mix or to stand out more and drive the band. I see a lot of love for the Noble tube DI but the Simone is a more fully featured and dare I say better value, more feature laden product and I’ve owned both to make that comparison from personal experience. It should be good as it’s a boutique item!
  12. Mis my old DJ4 black sparkle. Really good jazz basses these laklands.
  13. So a leak has revealed Fender have a new modeller but it’s gonna be ££££
  14. I love a Pete project😀
  15. It’s a great price too! I wish I got mine for this price!
  16. These are fantastic! Great price too. I’ve owned mine for about 10 yrs!
  17. The fender 64’s are a really great sounding pick up! One of the better Jazz models I’ve played.
  18. I no longer have the pedal but from memory I think I had the boost off most of the time.
  19. Had one yrs ago but it was nicked. I just remember it sounding warm and fat. It immediately made my bass sound like it had a touch of old school charm/mojo. I’m all sorted with a comp on my board but keep peeking at these effectrode units! I’ve only trade fodder anyway. Plus having bought from @Embra before (we literally lived on the same road a few years back) he always has quality gear!
  20. I know the boost is after the drive so it’s just volume rather than driving the gain/dirt. It’s a solid unit and had to hear its working for you.
  21. I had an M700 as my main amp for about 5 yrs. the Simone is such a great sounding unit too. I know people rave about the Noble as a tube DI but Simone is a better value unit and although it’s a bit bigger I don’t know why more folks aren’t raving about them. In terms of value for money/features/tone Simone is the winner.
  22. Mine hides underneath the pedal board as last thing in the signal chain. I take a DI off my Simone which goes into the desk via a DG Element. This way I can add more high pass if needed but have my IR’s set to be sounding good as is.
  23. You’re right and it’s unfair to chime in on the weight. I have other heads from this era. Powerful punchy and they do have weight to them in terms of the sound. My fender 800Pro is about 14kg and it’s entirely manageable. These class A/B or what ever they are really do sound so good!
