  2. Sorry to hear that as I know you’ve put a lot of work into getting things just so. It’s all quality gear so it shouldn’t take too long to shift.
  3. What happened? 😀 A cull already
  4. Yeah I was always keen to try one but since they’ve introduced 3rd party ir’s it’s become much more appealing. Plus no buttons is always a great thing when on a live gigging board. My singer/guitarist always manages to move something during our set up. Every stinking time!
  5. Thanks yeah it makes sense that it would run ‘thru’ to the amp but I don’t recall seeing that listed in their bumpf but a few folk have confirmed it does.
  6. I dunno hence the question. You being sure isn’t quiet worth a £150 punt 😀 Joking aside it makes total sense that it would but I’d like to hear it confirmed before making a purchase.
  7. So can you run a non effected ‘thru’ using the 1/4” I/O’s so you have no cab sim affecting the signal to the amp. I understand I might be a bit night shift addled but I couldn’t find a direct mention to this in the DG info. Now I realise as soon as I commit this to the annals of time on the internet someone will post a direct quote form DG where it states this but I know they only made third party IR’s compatible in a previous update. Anyone using the Element this way or know if it can? Thanks
  8. It sounds like the drive section is the winner. Reading the stuff on TB it’s a really nice drive
  9. Bass the World reviewed this model just the other day. Sounded great!
  10. Your ad under sells the many features of this pre. It’s a very versatile unit. I’ve had one for about 10 yrs maybe? It’s the longest lasting piece of kit I own!
  11. I didn’t realised I had a gif on Friday night and had to high tail it to the venue knowing I could do it iem so grabbed my gear bag, tube di and my bass and set off. Nice sound but missed the amp behind me but happy with the sound. Only bummer was I’d updates my cab ir pedal and didn’t realise it had reset and wiped everthing so no cab sim but a bit of eq’ing sorted that.
  12. Hahaha the quest is endless. Colourbox and a valve di! Bosh!
  13. Aye I should have alluded to this too. I have one so I should know about it 😀
  14. Sorry it’s kinda a Pultec based boost/drive but yeah!
  15. Well theres been an 1176 a Pultec style eq and now a 610 pre so a Neve or API type unit would be a logical next pedal as they cover guitar and bass or any source
  16. Normally I enjoy Nate’s videos but don’t think this one did the pedal justice. I’ve registered to a couple of demos and I do like what it does - it’s grown on me. I use the plug in of the 610 on my daw frequently and think this would be a great ‘one pedal with a di’ option for iem gigs and while I have a pedal which does that I’d still like to give one a go! It’s a shame GuitarGuitar don’t stock Origin! It strikes me as a unit you’d really get a feel for by actually playing it as opposed to a muff or something where you know/want the baked in sound. And not to be that guy but what’s next? A Neve based unit? Some other studio gear in a pedal? Origin are wizards!! It is payday weekend 🫨
  17. If the noise isn’t there when the comp is off or out of the signal chain chances are it’s adding noise or highlighting some noise somewhere. There’s an expectation comps can increase the noise floor and while some comps do it in a less noticeable way than others it could be the culprit. As always remove what you think is the offending item from the signal chain and test then do the same with the next bit of kit etc. As for settings the best thing to do is set the unit to where it’s doing what you want with minimal noise (I know I’m stating the obvious). It’s always hard to give settings especially on a compressor as we all have a different touch/attack but on the Cali a 4:1 ratio and fine tune the attk/rel to taste for a nice gentle evening out is a good starting point. Sorry I’ve just given the most generic reply ever on basschat 😀
  18. Admins please move to Accessories & Other… section Posted in wrong place
  19. Cracking clean bass preamp which is what I used it for but it shines in its original role as guitar distortion pedal. I actually only plugged it into a guitar yesterday for the first time and it sounded class - I got some killer chuggy, drop d sounds and could dial in a pretty mean thrash tone too. If I played guitar in a band I’d have this on my board. Can do lower gain too and there’s heaps of videos on you tube. Here’s one with the pedal designer. I love this range of fender pedals - they all have that extra wee features which comes from intelligent design by an actual guitar player.
