1.
Imagine needing a big dump 2 hours into this..
Big nappy?
2.
Plenty of folk enjoy stomping along all night with ACDC without any silly frills or trebly clank.
Yeah, but they're dull as ditch water...
3.
I don't think anyone is saying that he's not a good player. He just seemed to be OTT on the Glasto gig to the point where it was detrimental to the music. An example that stuck out in my head was this bit. https://youtu.be/rEzr3O8pPDM?t=248 The little slide thing that starts at 4.10. He was just continually doing things like this which didn't sound particularly great at all and took away from the groove. He's obviously a great player though.
He didn't quite pull that one off, but I'd rather see a bunch of musicians going for it and hear the odd fluff rather than hear something safe and staid. I think it's petty nitpicking and misses the bigger picture.
4.
I always find it a little silly that people come here and slag off 'x y z' - having regard to the fact that the target of their moans has just delivered a killer set at one of the worlds better regarded gigs - tell me, how was your audition at the Frog & Armpit?
Quite, it's the usual muso whining... I've just being having a listen to their set now, and it sounds pretty damn fine to me. The groove is good, the bass player is throwing a few embellishments in here and there, but it's a live gig ffs. Get over yourselves.
5. This music makes me want to hurt tiny animals.
6. I like some RHCP and also some Nick Cave. Is this allowed? Under the Bridge is one of those songs which was massively overplayed at the time, which is never a good thing, and it's far from my favourite RHCP song, however I think your critique of the song is frankly pants. I've just listened to it again, and I don't hear any over-complexity, neither does the bassline dominate, it's fairly restrained as far as Flea's bass lines go. If you don't like it, fair enough, but I don't understand your reasoning at all...
7. If only had to have one pedal it would be a compressor... I really don't get this weird aversion some people seem to have towards them... As others have said though, you might be better getting a good multi-effects pedals so you can decide what really floats your boat...

9. I've used them a fair bit down the years and never had a problem. Last ordered off them a couple of months ago without issue. However given the current issues, I think I'll avoid them in future. Shame as they have always had a great selection of strings, in spite of the rather 'clunky' website.
10. What a cockwomble. I'd have shown him the door pronto...
11. Yes. Bloody awful rattly tone though, sounds like a bag of spanners.
12. I prefer some desert blues myself...
13.
If we do this by changing the pitch of the notes but let the tempo and note durations remain the same as it seems they might be in the clip I'd say you get more oscillations per bar for an increase in pitch and less for a decrease.
This would also happen if you changed the key and retained the same baseline pitch. I genuinely don't understand what difference you think this makes to the quality/integrity of the music.
14. Check this article out... http://www.miltonline.com/2014/01/07/hertz-so-good/ If you believe 432Hz has some special 'celestial properties' then frankly you are seriously deluded. If you think it sounds better, then good for you. But please don't claim that there is some actual scientific basis for it.
15. I have a big one which frequently makes the earth move... at least that's what my girlfriend tells me! I'm here all week....
16. I arrived slightly late (and slightly hungover), started setting up and realised that I had forgotten my kettle lead... thankfully Kev was able to lend me one, so a big thanks for that fella... It was a fun couple of hours, and was nice to put a few faces to names. I enjoyed seeing what people had, and came away with a newly acquired interest in rubber thanks to Mottlefeeder and his ukelele bass. I think I may have accidentally infected a few people with Dingwall GAS, so apologies to all those affected...
17. A fantastic drummer, I love his precise, measured, pulsating style... RIP Jaki.
18.
I dislike Frank Zappa. Far too smart and tuneless for my taste. I happen to be in a 4 piece band with 3 Zappa fans who constantly quote lines from Zappa songs. Usually the same f%^&ing ones, every f*&^ing week. I believe there is a small possibility they do it on purpose
You dislike Zappa because he was too smart??? You must be loving the current geopolitical shenanigans in that case...
19. Fleetwood Mac - Rumours Dreary self-indulgent angst-ridden coked-up soft rock claptrap.
20. Cost me £25 direct from Overwater. Gauges are .038 .058 .078 .098 .128 Barely used, went on my Lakland 55-94 and came off 2 days later. Decent strings, but just a little too light for me. Cost includes Postage.
21.
Newtone is just up the road from me and will make strings to order quicker than I can get them at high street outlets. Just so's you know like. http://www.stringsdi...wtone%20Strings
Yeah I was aware of Newtone, however... There are only 2 sets of their bass strings available on the Stringsdirect site. Their own website is utter pants, and they only seem to do nickels and I prefer steels myself... ...but thanks anyway
22. Pity there seems to be such a dearth of good quality British made strings...
23. I am toying with selling my fabulous Dingwall ABZ5... a great instrument but I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that perhaps it stylistically doesn't suit my playing style.
24. Thought you were having problems with your boots for a moment...
25. No, I hate everyone in equal measure.
