1. Ampeg SVT Classic 04 model. The SVT CL is a lovely amp, Very simple in design and user friendly, also fairly cheap to maintain. Has new set of Svetlana matched power valves and JJ drivers. Plastic valve holders have been replaced with ceramics and the amp has been looked after by a local expert and has been treated with respect all of its life. There is one tear in the tolex across the bottom of the front panel. Im really only looking to trade. I want something fairly light weight in comparison with plenty of power and preferably a valve preamp. MarkBass, SWR, Aguilar, Trace Elliot, Genz Benz. Im pretty game for anything of equal value and professional quality. Im not 100% what I want to be honest. I don't know a great deal about the market I am potentially going into either. Will post pics as soon as I take them. £800 is what they generally go for off evil bay. Postage is probably not a great idea. So collection from Bridgend/Cardiff area is preferred. Would travel for trade or drop off for petrol money. *edit* amp will be serviced and given a clean bill of health before it changes hands. Cheers Ash
2. Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the sky Not because no one can do it justice, but because it is cursed. It ends the careers of everyone who touches it.
3. sh*t the bed. I really like that. I just hate the schecter headstock. also I hope maple is a fretboard option.
4. Shed "hot n dangerous" (cocco specials) with standard Jazz passive electronics give me all the bite and balls I need. Sans amp BDDI provides extra drive and 8 10s create the wall of noise I like to refer to as "the delicate sound of thunder". I like its plug and play simplicity. I dont think this will ever change from my recording tone. Depending on my mood my Trace Elliot T-bass or my 2eq 'ray might take the place of my Jazz. I have too many basses....
5. Thats a really early SB too if im not mistaken? it doesnt have the scrolling on the headstock
6. I really like your S2 OTPJ.
7. When did the bigger bridge get axed?
8. question, was birdseye maple an option or was it the standard for a certain era of stingrays?
9. There was a 4 string overwater original in black in speed music in cardiff when it was still open. It was marked up for £350 and was the first overwater Id ever seen. I wanted it but alas I could not afford it . the one that got away? I think so

17. From one bearded T-40 player to another. I really hope this goes to a good home, its a f***ing beauty
18. going on the features it doesn't have a great deal in common with either. IMO a P or a J bass is defined by its pickup configuration, body shape and neck profile, (obviously these all contribute to its tone), this has none of the features of either by the looks of it. That isnt to say that you couldnt get a P or a J tone (or at least something simular out of it) using its onboard electronics but I wouldn't say it falls under either category.
19. I really like this too, I always had a soft spot for the old one but could never bring myself to buy one.
20. I have a B 4x10 HLF which my SVT classic killed in less than a year.
21. Very professional and easy to deal with. I love my new T-bass. always replies to messages within a day, all in all a pleasure to do business with. Thanks Gareth

23.
I'm waiting for someone to turn up on here with a "Rail." Fred.T.Baker had one when I had a couple of lessons with him in the late 80's. Seriously cool thing!
I was hoping the same, there is one on e-bay in red at the moment, if it wasnt in austraila i might be tempted
