1. Just got myself a (new) MIM Precision and it's a joy to play. It was ~ £500 and a US instrument would've been £800+. That's not nearly the same price to me, and the quality still feels pretty high.
2. Nate Mendel from the Foos been mentioned yet? Really tasteful player and part of such a tight rhythm section with Hawkins.
3. That's lovely! Enjoy, my friend.
I like it in white. Should you change the pick guard, will you rename Beluga to Tortuga?
Genius. I will.

Accidentally posted this without content! Not like I'm a web developer or anything, so nothing to be ashamed of. Bass porn incoming... Her name is Beluga, she's an Arctic White MIM P-bass and she's lovely to play. It's the first bass I've bought in five years and I've been after a precision for some time! Currently umming and ahing over whether to keep the white pickguard in place, or add the tortoiseshell. I didn't think I'd love the look of it so much with the default white, but I kinda do... Awful quality phone pics... With the jazz.
6. Maybe you're just farting basses out. It's inevitable that the GAS will then build...
7.
BTW I'm watching a young band from Oxford right now, Glass Animals and I like it. Blue
Glass Animals are brilliant! Sold out their show in Oxford, so I'm missing out I've seen a few 'bass player wanted' adverts out there for pop/punk bands around the area. They're usually sent out by 18 year olds in or straight out of college. I'd feel like the uncool older one (and I'm only 25).
8. Could you get 'Toxic' by Britney in there? Some groove
9. The latest (and only?) Haim album has some killer bass playing a lovely precision tone to boot!
10. Glad you all like the natural finish bass. It was one of my favourite work experience outings.
11. That's gorgeous. Looking at the MIM Arctic white colour - does it look as classy as the Olly white (paired with tort pickguard and maple neck)?
12. That bit of human nuance, the scrapes, rattles and buzz (could be a new cereal) is what makes playing music so damn cool. It makes our own style distinctive too. You wouldn't want a robot playing bass. At the same time, as others have said, it's no bad thing to clean up your playing a little. Play slowly with a metronome.
13. Listened through headphones last night and it sounds like a jazz bass. Really cool lick for one bar at the end of the chorus (covered above, I think.)

Thought I'd add that these are really nice basses for the money. GLWTS

Metal tone

To me, it sounds similar to the Korn bass tone. I don't hear many mids, but I do hear lows and the high frequencies cranked (for the clank).
16. Sounds like a confidence thing. Lead(!) guitarist in our old band had the same issue. Nothing he was playing was 'quite right' and I don't think he wanted to be heard at all. Not sure he was after lead, in the end...
17.
Mr Pino Pallodino http://open.spotify....3HUz9u2joumbZ2Z
Followed - thanks for sharing!
18. Frustrated chasing leads, meeting a couple of times, almost getting a rehearsal sorted, only for someone to say they can't actually make it to the studio. Even more chasing up and it all goes quiet.
19. Both the US jazz and precision came out on top, for me. Sounded much sharper than the mexican equivalents. Do want that '77.
