    Sounds like a confidence thing. Lead(!) guitarist in our old band had the same issue. Nothing he was playing was 'quite right' and I don't think he wanted to be heard at all. Not sure he was after lead, in the end...

    Frustrated chasing leads, meeting a couple of times, almost getting a rehearsal sorted, only for someone to say they can't actually make it to the studio. Even more chasing up and it all goes quiet.

    Both the US jazz and precision came out on top, for me. Sounded much sharper than the mexican equivalents. Do want that '77.

    Lovely bass. What does the Special refer to? Is it a jazz width neck? EDIT: I should read. Slimmer neck sounds good - similar to a jazz?

    To me, the tort pickguard looks amazing with the rosewood fingerboard, but not so much with the maple.

    I like Rotosound Swing 66s, but I sometimes get a dud E string from the pack. I didn't this time around.

    I'd recommend the Gotoh too. Cheap-ish but quality.

    Was my first LBGS and I've had a great day. Highlight was Frank Bello's masterclass - seems like a great guy and his enthusiasm and passion is just contagious! The constant slapping w***ery was a bit annoying though.
