1. Riffy and proggy? How about some Propagandhi.
2. Lovely bass. What does the Special refer to? Is it a jazz width neck? EDIT: I should read. Slimmer neck sounds good - similar to a jazz?

To me, the tort pickguard looks amazing with the rosewood fingerboard, but not so much with the maple.
4. I'm just down the road from South Park, so I'll be down!
5.
He's better than a lot of guitarists I've seen, I didn't hear a bum note from him and no extended solo
6. Looks lovely. Thinking about getting one of these.
7. I like Rotosound Swing 66s, but I sometimes get a dud E string from the pack. I didn't this time around.
8. Something a little different Love the way that the minimal bassline and drums drive the song.
9. Was 'Holy Bible' by Manics recorded with a P-bass or a Rick? Perhaps a Rick on a few tracks like Archives of Pain... EDIT: Someone beat me to it.
10. I'd recommend the Gotoh too. Cheap-ish but quality.
11. Yeasayer bass player, Ira Wolf Tuton (cool name too), seems to be a phenomenal player. Check out the pitch-shifted intro and the bass solo outro! And all on a freakin' fretless.
12. Was my first LBGS and I've had a great day. Highlight was Frank Bello's masterclass - seems like a great guy and his enthusiasm and passion is just contagious! The constant slapping w***ery was a bit annoying though.
13. ^ Sorry to hear. That's a bummer! Are you in a band based in Oxford then, and where was the gig? I go to a few around here.
14. Nice work! May pop over and say hi
15. Can vouch for these being great basses. Good luck with the sale
16. Pull Me Under, Constant Motion (not that it's easy).
17. Listen to it again and again, play along with it, stop playing, listen a few more times. It's gotta be perfec' too.
18. Cheers Reverb, he's quite the eclectic and talented chap!
19. Anybody heard the latest Blood Orange release Cupid Deluxe? It's wonderful, with so much groovy and tasteful bass. The bassist (for most of the tracks) is David Ginyard. I usually dislike slap bass, but not when it's used in sprinkles Chamakay is beautiful too. Crazy dance moves too. Thought I'd share. Enjoy!
20. In the same way a fat p-bass Arctic Monkeys track can groove. Perhaps I've missed the point.
21. My favourite bass player Mic Todd (formerly of Coheed and Cambria) could groove like hell. But they rocked - his lines rocked in that context. My cop-out answer without actually saying much. *shrugs*
22.
Foo Fighters, seen them live loads of times and always come away thinking it would be my dream job.
+1
