The Akai mini play also has onboard sounds as well, although the reviews say they aint great

There's loads to choose from and I've only ever had ones by M-Audio which I've found to be pretty reliable. If I could choose again though I'd probably try and get one with full sized keys.

xlr to 1/4 inch jack sounds like the culprit (possibly), doesn't he behringer have xlr in? Or alternatively just go go bass to behringer and use amps in your DAW, the less connections, the better
I love listening to isolated bass tracks. When you hear them like this you realise that most of them aren't really too difficult or fast but in the mix they sound amazing. Even YYZ in isolation sounds (just) do-able if you put the work in, the little solo runs are even punched in!
only ever seen two punch ups in ten years (due to the age of the punters!) and they were nowhere near the band. The hassle of the setup and takedown is something you have to accept (I hate it but there you go). I love the beer money, it lets me buy all my gear and GAS. TBH I haven't missed gigging over the last 2 months (and the 8 gigs we lost) but I always say that but actually enjoy it on the night. I would say think about it carefully as if you join the band then change your mind after a couple of gigs you'd be letting the lads down.
so looking at some more info, it would appear that the original B3 could be used as a 2 in/out audio interface but the newer B3n dropped that feature. If that's true that's a mahoosive deal breaker for the newer version IMO, I'd love to see some video of the older B3 used as a Audio Interface but I can't find any.
