Installing Aguilar OBP 3 on Ibanez Musician MC 924
FlatEric replied to AngeR's topic in Bass Guitars
Hi. I have one of these. http://flatericbassa...an-mc924ds.html With a decent battery, it sounds very nice, indeed. For me, I would leave it well alone - there aren't that many of these around. I'd get something else to mod. . . . honestly. Keep it as it is. Cheers.
-
One of my favourite live photos, from a gig the other week. I usually get caught pulling some pretty horrendous faces so this was a nice surprise
Wielding a Peavey Zodiac - a man of great taste! -
Have a free bump on me. I have both of these and I think the bit in you sig, is about right. Special "Rock" - Deluxe "Funk" Either will do both but they do lean slightly one way or the other. People forget the these were/are high end basses. Mine came in it's original case, with it's Gigsville label and the original price tag. The SB Special Deluxe II, all those years ago, was £328.87!!! That's over £900, in todays money!! Good luck with the sale. . . . . if you really do want to move them on! Cheers. Ooops - meant to add this.

Please, someone buy this, before it is too late and my resistance will weaken. http://www.ebay.com/itm/140951478338 If it was good enough for Phil Lynott. . . . . I have one of these and it is a Very Good bass, indeed. If someone wants a great bass and is not bothered about it having F,G or R on the headstock, this is the one for you. Ibanez, of this period, made some stunning basses - top end build quality. Grab this one. Cheers. This is mine, at work.

Gibson EB0 - early Les Paul Jnr shaped ones - any info?
FlatEric replied to Paul S's topic in Bass Guitars
Hi there. I have been lucky enough to have a go on a couple, over the years. I have a '63 EBO, same plastic covered Mudbucker, which to me, sounds pretty much the same. More Thuddy than a Thuddy thing!! Thick, treacle-like bottom end, with little above that. From memory, as a lot of these type of basses are - Head Heavy. For looks and Vintage Mojo, you can't beat it - as a gigging bass, not for me. Hope this helps with your GAS Cheers. -

What a great topic. I was having a conversation with a fellow bass player, who plays Classic Aria and Ibanez (not Mat) and nothing else. I have quite a few in my collection and we both agreed that £ for £ the stuff that came out of Matsumoko and Fujigen, in the day, are some of the nicest instruments you could own and play. I'll dig out some of my "Mats" Cheers.
Also I believe that on the really rare ones, the pinstripe that goes around the headstock follows the shape of the truss rod cover. On most of them the pinstripe goes around the headstock and under the truss rod cover, parallel to the nut. The former version are more collectable. I'm told. I'm not an expert.
Hi. The one you refer to is the very early series of "T-40" which, in some of the 8M serials, had that feature. As you say - a rare one. The T-45 is the single PU model and is quite rare, on this side of the pond. Pics from the OP? Would love to see the beast.
A friend of mine is looking to sell a Peavey t45 bass, she would like some information on this to put in her add. I don't know anything about these basses, so I thought I would tap into the Basschat pool of knowledge. I bet we have a t45 Yoda on ear. "Bass you have, knowledge I give". Ta very glad BIGd
'Ow Do! Mmm. What Colour? Maple Board? Original Case? Condition? [s]Address?[/s] Ooops, that bit just slipped out! I've got one but it really needs a re-fret, so not been played for over 3 years. Pics? Cheers.
You need a MIDI floor controller like this: http://www.studiospa...CFUbKtAodux4ASA
Two things - thanks for the info and OUCH! The cost is a bit of a shocker but on top of that, trying to get that past the nose of a guitarist, may be a bit of a challenge. Anything smaller? Cheers.

Hi. I got a V Amp Pro, as part of a trade, a couple of years ago. I have played around with it and have got a few interesting tones/sounds. My questions is. . . . how would you move along/select the pre-sets live? I don't fancy wandering backwards and forwards to the amp - the smaller version, that looks like a guitar, has a select pedal but the bigger version does not. What is needed to select from a pedal? Ta.
