1.
Nice post sime17 I have gas for both the Lakland and G&L, the Laklands don't have quite as much bite as a Ray IMO but they have a cracking range of useable tones and match the EBMM for build quality, great basses.
I chucked a 44-02 in for my '95 Ray. Great bass, super-light and really nicely put together. You could honestly play if all day and not know you'd been playing. Just far too polite on the bridge pick-up solo'ed. Doesn't do the Ray sound, in short.
  2.
I'm impressed, I wonder what his playing's like in the bedroom?
Ooh er missus!
  3. Way to go Cameron!
  4. I don't understand all this new gear. Whatever happened to just asking your drummer to put his dick in it?

Hmm... Anyone have a 4 string Stealth and want an SR5?

Ok, I buy that it's great - and the burnt orange has received my approval... though I think I'd prefer the matt black version they do; but... ... what's so different about the pre-amp? Am I getting something different than hitting up an HH Stingray? I was quite late to the Stingray camp, though am now a massive fan - as my PM history with Gareth will attest to!
  7. Great price. Accepting offers too, bizarrely.
  8. Trade for Bass Balls or similar?
  9.
... impulse after listening to Martin Turner (Wishbone Ash) on the car stereo and having an arousing moment.
It's a wonder you didn't crash. [INSERT HARD LOCK JOKE HERE]
  10.
... will be less demanding as we all know gigging keeps you tight!
You might also try pelvic floor exercises.
  11.
Gibson basses, expressed as an algorithm:
REPEAT create new bass WHILE bass still available FOR timer = 1 to a number picked out of a hat less than 10 sell bass NEXT IF NOT outsold Fender AND bass != Thunderbird THEN discontinue bass ENDWHILE UNTIL company bankrupt

That is f***ing brilliant
  12.
You should try rickresource
I'll give you a quid if you do. Post screenshots here
  13. I sensed the disturbance in the force.
  14. I just picked up a 2010 Stingray 5, and would heartily recommend it to BC'ers - it's a great instrument. None too heavy, and with all the tone that would expect from a Stingray. Good luck with the sale, OHM.

    Now that is nice!
  16.
Mope not! It's all relative, mate! Many years ago I was a founder member of a band which I subsequently left because I didn't think they were all that, really. A track I recorded with them later went to number three in the UK, selling 750,000 records. They recorded two more successful singles, two successful albums and toured the world. I got bugger all.
You were in Atomic Kitten?
  17. Blocks and ring binding. Very punk.
  18.
Andy at Wizard is very approachable, helpful and willing to chat through your requirements.
He's a total dude
  19.
I think it would be A not D.
Sorry, my typo - I normally use drop D, so it's on the brain. I have tried dropping the B to an A around the standard drop D tuning, but... well, it has it's moments.
  20.
Has anyone ever had a D-tuner fitted on a 5 string bass on the B string ??? Is it possible ?? Pros & cons ?
Is it possible? I imagine so. Pros: you no longer have a spare D-tuner. Cons: that lowest-of-low As is very low indeed. And potentially a little bit Pele.
  21. Pretty essential piece of kit for an authentic restoration!
  22.
Have you seen the ESP LTD Surveyers? I know far from a Mike Lull but sounds like your sort of bass
I've wanted to try one of these for a while. They seem to do well enough for the chap in Karma to Burn, and that's much the playing style and style of music I've been trying to emulate, so hey... I just need to find one at a realistic price, or find a nearby user to let me have a go.
  23. Into The Void is my personal favourite - though I now hear that line in so many others!
  24.
approx. one in four of their tracks i like. the rest i could live without. all in all, not bad for a pop band.
About the same. When they're on, they're on... just it's one in four, or thereabouts, these days.
  25.
Wot you reckon to this?
I quite like it. But I quite like bad things. I'm a wrong 'un, that's for sure. I'll admit, I would have traded my birthday blowie and nice meal (which I'm sure I've represented in the wrong order, Basschat) for something more material
