  1. I'll do my best in remembering to report back to you @SumOne
  2. Christian Rock is ok though?
  3. Not had the courage to even take it out of the box yet, this really took my fancy after reviews and it seemed quite simple to use, plus 250 effects there must be some in there I can make use of/have fun with!
  4. When I was a teenager absolutely that was my dream. Now I've come to realise that I appreciate a level of structure and certainty that I don't think that I could cope without. Add to that, limited attention span, perfectionism and not really being that chilled a lot of the time, not to mention my own physical issues, it would never have worked out. So I'm as active within my local music scene as I can whilst being married and working full time, its the best I can do.
  5. I agree, I have a set of their silkless flats and really like the feel of them, I bought another set a few years later and they appeared to be rebadged Chromes..
  6. One thing I would add that I don't think has been mentioned yet, is perhaps look more closely at rhythm and how you can vary note length and add articulation to add interest to the bassline rather than adding more or different notes. This isn't necessarily appropriate for cover songs but I sometimes think a long the lines of, I'll only use 2 strings, stay in one area of the neck or create the feel of a walking bassline. It's sort of a challenge but can sometimes help with diffent ideas for fills or overall sound. May or may not work for you, just offering a different spin on it.
  7. To me, Mick Karn and Percy Jones have similar styles, both out of the ordinary whilst still very melodic, having tried to listen to Mick several times, I would always go back Percy.
  8. I'd happily give them a try too if they did. Shame.
  9. I have a 60's Creamery P bass pickup reversed, very pleased with it, also have a Herrick 51 P ready to go into a project still in bits. Its great to have so many UK pickup builders and choice available.
  10. Rickenbacker 4003 Epiphone Classic T Bird Epiphone EB-O 6 string fretless Ultimately I always come back to my 2011 US P with flats, so although I like the sound and looks of the others listed above, they wouldn't get used very often.. Already have a collection of 10+ that apart from the odd fretless all sit gathering dust.
  11. I practice maybe an hour or two per week, outside of weekly band rehearsal. I'm a perfectionist so I could always play better but I'm competent enough to hold a band together and help make it sound good when it matters. 6 hours a day everyday, I'm sure I could be technically brilliant etc but I would likely start hating the thing that brings the most happiness in my life..
  12. I have a Rock n Roller R2RT, I've been using it for a few years, very sturdy, handles a lot of weight for its size and folds down quite small. They gone up in price recently but as others have said buy cheap, buy twice, get what you pay for etc. https://rocknrollercarts.co.uk/products/rocknroller®-multi-cart®-r2rt-micro
  13. Percy Jones (Brand X, Brian Eno, Tunnels) John Giblin Jeroen Paul Thesseling Glen Hughes Geezer Jack Bruce John Entwistle Phil Lynott Colin Moulding (XTC) Herbie Flowers (how could I forget him?) Norman WR Gotten into John Pattitucci recently..
  14. I put a long scale set of these on a fretless P, its a cool sound, I was worried about the feel of them, if they were going to be too floppy, but work fine for me. Not gigged yet but I'll report back if I do!
  15. I hardly play my Corvette Standard now but I remember the part the rested on my leg (played sat down a lot) took on a blue colour from my jeans, kinda liked it and made it mine, each to their own as they say.
  16. Lovely, none of the PJ nonsense!
  17. More likely TI's then, unless they are old rotos.
  18. Look like Roto 77's to me, just to throw something different out there. Are they coloured ball ends or brass?
  19. Fortunately my band mates are always happy to help me, having had a hernia fixed this year, 3 lumbar spine discs with issues, plus a neurological disability that affects my balance and mobility, saying I have to take it easy nowadays is an understatement. As a young man (early 30's) invariably describribed as "Hench" or "A Unit", this is frustrating but necessary to continue doing what I love..
  20. Down in the Tube Station at Midnight - The Jam, mainly the speed.
  21. FSO = Fender Shaped Object.
  22. Same for me with Aerodyne, I have a Yamaha BB PJ, never use the J pickup, just because I'm me and how my brain does or doesn't work, I might de solder it take it out and just leave the cover in place so it looks presentable. Oh and de solder the tone pot while I'm there..
  23. Oh yes, whenever needed sir! I shall happily oblidge!
  24. I've never gotten on with Jazz Basses either, sound, shape, neck width, eurgh!
  25. Yep, that suits my purposes My next build will have a the pickup wired direct to the output jack.
