I had a clear scratchplate made for my Sandberg Basic, several years ago... I used aurora project who have since gone out of business, as far as I can tell... I sent them the original one as a template & they turned it around very quickly at a reasonable price... but the fit wasn't the best & I eventually cracked it by over tightening a screw. I went directly to Sandberg after that & they did me a much better quality one for around £40-ish. I've since gone back to using the original black one! Didn't like the fact that you could see sweat beads under the plate.... There seems to be several custom made options out in Googleland..... http://www.originals...lates.com/#home .....This looks reasonable but I've had no actual experience of them...
This is actually a Japanese Matsumoku build, the same bass turns up with a different headstock & numerous brand names, including Aria & Commodore.
I remember Commadore being in the 'Bells Musical Instruments' catalogue many moons ago! Jeez... £42.35 (what an odd price!) ... Another bit of old skool Epi porn..... Newport? With the bat wing headstock These do look cool though.... I believe Epiphone did re-release a similar shape guitar version relatively recently but not the bass....

Curiouser & curiouser..... Yes, there is an ET280 on Ebay at the moment for £195.... Don't think I'm up for it though... If it was a Crestwood, maybe so.... I have a friend who used to have a Crestwood guitar back in the day, it was a really good guitar.... Never seen an epi scroll before...

Has anyone owned or played an Epiphone ET280? Quite a cool retro 70's look.... I think the guy from LCD Soundsystem used to play one.. Epiphone were very good at making their own original designs back in the day.

Recently I've stripped it down to a more modest collection for the majority of gigs... I still have a big board for that 'special' occasion & I have been known to link the two together when I'm feeling mental!.... but this can cover most of my actual working situations....

I have recently upgraded to a TH500 head & can no longer justify keeping this AG 500 sc. So I am selling it on... I've used a lot of different gear over the years & I've found that the Aguilar tone suits me really well. What I will say about this amp is this... I think that Aguilar made a brilliant amp when they put out the AG 500 heads, such great tone & so easy to dial it up... The only issue I have experienced with this amp is with the protection modes... Overcurrent & Thermal/DC. I found that running at 4 ohms & sometimes when using various boosting pedals, dirt etc.. the overcurrent protection mode kicked in with a bit of a hair trigger causing me to have to power cycle the amp to reset.... Probably not something that occurs with other people (I have friends with the same head that do not experience this & maybe I do dig in a bit hard sometimes!) I've never experienced it running one cab at 8 ohms though.... I just wanted to mention that & be honest about my experience... So I'm selling at a very reasonable price with a Gator bag thrown in.... £350 Would prefer to meet to do the deal (I travel all over a fair bit so this could be possible) but will ship with the cost of that added.... *SOLD Pending the usual*......
I enjoyed the show; Blur were really on form I thought.. The Ong Ong song was great. Laura Marling was as interesting as ever and showed again what a talented guitar player and singer she is... Favourite of the night though, was Natalie Prass, who had a great bass player in her band - he was really funky!
me too! The Natalie Prass band made my ears prick up
