Early 80's Tune 'Bass Maniac'... Very unique sounding bass..

The GS range is my favourite sounding Aguilar cabs.. I had a pair of 12's with various heads over the years..then stupidly sold them because I was romanced by the lure of SL12s being lighter.. Soon found out that they were totally not my sound at all.. so eventually sold them & found someone selling 2 pristine hardly used ones.... Bought them for the same price as my original new ones! Win win!!

I've recently got serious G.A.S. for a transparent body bass!.. the Dan Armstrong ones from the 60's/70's look very cool... but are pretty pricey these days.... recently, Serek make one that looks a little like a Gibson Grabber bass... Stumbled across the Charlie Jones video of his custom made P basses (fuelled the gas!..) 😎 Charlie Jones plastic P basses I don't actually need another bass! I mainly play 5 string these days & the only acrylic option, as far as I can tell, are the Chinese, unbranded ones... has anyone had any experience of the Chinese basses?

That area of 'the dusty end' doesn't get much of my attention, to be fair! 😆

Love this bass!...... the aria fretless acoustic is a real gem!... designed to actually sound fat.. with a big body.... ... I really like it.. My first proper bass was an Aria P bass copy.. & it was built better than the real thing to be honest ...So I was willing to give this a proper look.... really like it... & it has f holes!... It sounds great & it's not that expensive.... Any other love for the Aria FEBFLUFFEN

Just bought 2 Aguilar GS112s from Pete.. a lovely chap... we met at an M1 service station.. communication good throughout & trust was there from the start.. great experience ...

Hmm.. I've tried many combinations.. but it still doesn't "warm" enough.. ..I know that there are so many factors in the equation.. head, cab etc makes so much difference.. I didn't know that the treble control acts as tone ..I though in passive.. the tone knobs are inactive..? 🧐

I have a Sandberg basic 5 string which I like the feel of but the original sound I found a little 'hard' & lacking warmth.. So, being a fan of Aguilar, I decided to swap the pup for the Aguilar MM style one.. result, slightly warmer, bit growly.. an improvement overall.. but no cigar as yet.. I'm wondering if the active/passive EQ (Sandbergs' own) could be swapped to something more warm & vintage sounding? Any advice or recommendations?
