  2. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oz-1K6SryY0
  3. I think it is a clone of the Maxon AF-9 🤔
  4. Mooer envelope filter... boxed Small footprint, velcro on bottom. Sold
  5. Mooer Ensemble Queen Bass Chorus SOLD Just the DoD FX25B left now!
  6. I disagree.. Peavey gear is generally well made & i use a microbass combo as a practice amp.. I love it! .. it's very subjective this! ... We all experience things differently
  7. Whoever Trace Elliott/Peavey are these days.. there is still good gear being produced... 🙂
  8. Do we really need thousands of watts in the realistic world of actual gigs? I have never understood why that is important.. A Volvo V40 has the same engine as a Ford focus... So what!? .. I personally prefer the Swedish take on it though! I like the original Elf head.. tried the 2x8 cab too..was really impressed, it's good, well made gear.. I have the Elf head as a back up... I use Aguilar & GK as my main kit these days but very impressed with the TC elf stuff... ... incidentally, I have been fond of Peavey gear too have used much also over a 30 year+ career in bassing!
  9. Because prices fluctuate a lot I tend Google my strings of choice & scroll till I find them at the cheapest price.. I paid £26 for a set of D'addario EXL 170-5's.. recently from an eBay place I used a while ago.... just googled them now & found them for £18.92 at a place called Stewmac! .. always worth a fresh search
  10. BBE opto comp now SOLD pending the usual.
  11. Ibanez ATK 5 string.. my go to bass still!
  12. What mods did you do?.. lot of respect for the dod envelope filter..it was great but it was also flawed..
  13. I really like the EBS Octabass.. & also really impressed with the markbass raw Octaver.. very small footprint & simple to use..
  14. I've used several envelope followers over the years.. 1st was a doctor Q by Electro Harmonix ..(pre nano) Then a Dod 25B (I believe it was used by Flea on sir Psycho sexy) then a bottomfeeder..(which was a boutique clone) Mooer envelope & Mooer sweeper.. Sweeper has a character of it's own!.. envelope is generic but usable... I now have the EBS IQ 3 knob new version.. which is very versatile & works for me...
  15. Markbass raw Octaver is a great pedal.. I'm impressed & swapped my EBS Octabass (which I loved!) for it.. needed a smaller footprint. I've also had a mooer ensemble queen ...which was ok but didn't really stand up to a boss CEB 3 ...also a mooer envelope, which was reasonable.. but not very versatile.. the sweeper by mooer, has more character in my humble opinion..but not a conventional envelope filter.. xotic sp compressor is great.. I replaced an EBS multicomp with the SP and it totally covers my compression needs!..
  16. GLX eq now sold pending the usual...
  17. Interesting comment!.. over the years I have tried many different ways of pedal order.. it does tend to be subjective despite the various standard defaults.. for quite a while I went: envelope>compressor>octaver>dirt> chorus .. thinking that the envelope filter needed to do its thing before taming it with compression.. I've gone back to compressor first recently, I have it set pretty mild.. the signal into the Octaver is stable.. envelope after seems to work well.. I rarely use the B3K & RC booster at the same time but now you have mentioned it I will try swapping them around!.. my thoughts were dirt sound then plus with a boost.. dirt into filter, for me is too aggressive.. but I have an add on board, that I use for more experimental situations.. with another envelope filter after a colorsound fuzz & Ibanez phathed overdrive!.... Some different sounds there!
  18. It can be both!.. I use it as a clean treble boost for slap moments but it has a gain control that can give it drive..
  19. Latest small board version.. I tried to skimp on sound quality because I needed to fit many on a small board.. I had a mooer envelope filter, which isn't bad.. but just had one sound that took constant vigilance to dial in right! Adding the early Xmas prezzie to me! ...EBS IQ blue label has completed this set up 😊....small but perfectly formed!
  20. I have one.. love it!
  21. EBS multi comp now SOLD to bassbiscuits pending the usual... 🙂
  22. BBE Octo Stomp (old school) - £50 EBS Multi Comp - £85 Dod 25B Envelope filter (the classic!) - £50 Mooer Ensemble Queen Bass Chorus - £35 GLX Bass EQ - £20 Some with boxes, all with velcro bottoms at the moment... Prices now posted!
  23. My favourites so far. Kimbara fuzz box (fuzz face clone) Colorsound tonebender (adapted by an electronics genius, that I was in a band with, to be massively bass friendly!) Ibanez PD7 phat-hed overdrive (noisy but very versatile) ...Microtubes B3K..my current weapon of choice!... Love it!
  24. Brilliant!.. this has been very entertaining!.. & also informative!.. thanks to all... Bass players are a wise and humourous, essential part of society.. I love this place! 🤘😎
