3. yep soz, tomorrow
4. bump for interest
5. Sure, they're marmite basses no doubt. But like you say, they're great basses!
6. After dithering, definitely selling this now. A firm £700 - not desperate to sell so won't do silly prices. I'm mostly interested in a sale, but also any trades/part-ex for US G&L's (not Tributes), early Ibanez (ie. Roadster/Roadstar/Blazer type models), early Yamaha BBs, but also could be intrigued by the right 5 string, as I have a 5 string itch that keeps coming back. Many have said on here, and I would concur, that the Roadworn models are close to the Fender custom basses, and the next best thing to splashing out on the huge prices the customs command. The MIM tag really is of little consequence as these play beautifully, with pick ups with great old school vibe, sweet fast neck and that love it or loathe it relic job. The sunburst looks great actually. 12. Bass Direct is only down the road from me so I'm always vulnerable! I've been looking for a well made affordable rig and this seems to fit the bill. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...0+Cabinets.html Mark and I were saying that the new BH amp and BC cab range seems to have crept in under the radar and there's not been much chat about them - more it would appear about the RH750 and Blacksmith. But this seems to be perfect for my modest needs and a great alternative to the pricier TC products. Have only used at 'back room' volumes as of yet, but I'll use it in rehearsals very soon and have a clearer idea of how it works in the mix etc, but it seems on the face of it to have a very clean and unvoiced sound and the amp is straining at the leash to let rip. The 500 watts into the 4ohm cab promises much. Head £375 Cab £375 All in for £750 - a real bargain. I hope. Will update more when used in anger.
13. what DOES SN stand for?

17.
So it turns out that when I started playing bass I had to give up my self confidence as well!!!!! I say all you stop wishing for a hug and someone to tell you your loved and just play your bloody bass. I know what I can do and what I cant do on bass and I love trying new styles and even things as basic as scales/modes. If you play bass, you play bass. shouldnt you just be happy with that? Whats all this nonsense about fakers? Is someone playing the bass for you or are you miming over a recording? Man up men. WE ARE BASS PLAYERS........................BE PROUD.
+1 and squeeze your buttocks together and shout 'Yeah!" We put too much pressure on what we 'think' fits and forget that music is music is music and art is art etc etc - there are no rights or wrongs, just always other ways of doing things.
18.
Thanks for taking the time to try and get the weight but I've got to confess that even taking your heaviest weight makes that a pretty light bass! I'd certainly be interested but due to past experiences of folks exagerating claims of basses being significantly lighter than they actually are I'd need to be sure that your bass was as light as you say; especially as I couldn't try before buying.
well it is very light - dunno what to say tbh, I'm not duping you - as some band said: "it ain't heavy.." if anyone can shed any light on this it would be appreciated - it's just not a brick, it's light on the strap, but like I said the baggage weighing thing I used did jump around so....
19. i have a baggage weighing thing, but it doesn't take too well to guitars!! However, altho the weight changed a little each time, it averages at approx 3kg - sorry can't be dead accurate but I did do it two or three times and it hovered first around 2.97 then 3.06 etc..you get the picture..
20. This is a USA made 2003 model, with nitrocellulose finish on the body in what I believe is Daphne blue. Do a Google there is a consensus that these are most excellent instruments The pup is currently a Wizard Thumper and the pickguard, which I have had to file a little to make it fit, is my own choice re-fit. It's a good job and looks okay, but the sale will include both the original pick up and pickguard, which is white. (See pics) For a ten year old bass with a nitro finish it's in good condition, bar dinks and knocks, and some nicks at the bridge where a previous owner fitted a bridge cover. Neck straight, frets good - A fantastic bargain with the Wizard pup alone worth £50 odd. I can post for an extra £10, or happy to meet within reasonable distance for petrol money. PICS HERE http://www.flickr.com/photos/49793253@N07/...57626287436925/

23. There's a lot on the move on the forum this week - by many many other accounts and my own, it's such good quality - me confused

25.
I understand fully the argument with regard to bettering ones self technically as a player and understanding theory etc, however one has to ask why you picked an instrument up as a kid in the first place? Is it because you wanted to be proficient in musical theory, and technically brilliant as a player? Or was it because the music you first heard stirred enough emotion inside you to make you say to yourself "I want to play music like that". For me it was the latter, and my only motivation to play today, some 30 years since I first picked up a Columbus Jazz for the first time, remains the same. Emotion, and love for music, of many different styles. For me, it's emotion and feel first, technique second, and theory some way behind that. My lack of musical theory knowledge hasn't spoilt my love of music thus far, and my playing, as average as it may be, still makes me feel happy inside, which for me, is the only reason for playing music at all. Edit: not sure how much relevance this post has to the OP, sorry if I've wandered off topic, again.
+111111111
