1. hey nice bass indeed - I noticed you've said the bass is MIJ in the title, but it's actually a CIJ in the description and pics - could make a difference in persuading people taking a peek??
2. bump for a very nearest offer??
3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:X:RTQ:US:1123 What do people reckon? Is it subject to a refinish at some point? And do the body and the neck go together? Body appears to all accounts to be a GL-1000? But headstock says SB-1. I thought SB-1s had a P bass like p'up? I asked seller about it and got: "From close inspection it appears that perhaps yes... I am not completly sure... I can shoot some angle shots for ya... it is a varnish wood finish... Far as I know it does go together... I had a fellow in here yesterday knows them well... he suspected it was diffenrent body all together but after examning he concluded tht indeed it could of been however; changed his mind when he saw the stamped body.. I will look close at the bridge design and stamp.. it could help you know it better... I apologize for not having the answers... Helping sell it for someone... and want to make sure we all know what we got... thanks for your interest... let me know I will post more pics or I can send them to you..email.. or something... let me know... I will lay it out today and take the cover off and take photo...."

10.
Thanks for the information - I've just read the thread on TB and there's not much love for them over there. I'm not too bothered about the blocks and binding, so I might go for the sunburst model with rosewood neck if I can find a nice lightweight one. And I will definately try before I buy.
my youngest son just got one of these - plays nice and good QC
11. undercut bump
12. this rocks bump
13. thanks Pete, t'was chat i saw on TB
14. no gig bump
15. Thanks for all the comments guys - Would be of help to hear views on how much Rays rock out - some might say they lack bottom end?? I play in a three piece alongside a Gibson LP and a full on drummer. My impression is the Rays sit in the mix with a nice mid punch?? Will they underpin the sound and hold it down?
16. it's obvious - you're losing it mate
17. Pete, I know it's not Pre-EB, but I have tracked down an 86 MM which condition wise looks amazing and it's around the £1200 mark - does that seem..I hesitate to use the word reasonable when you consider what these things cost at source to make...but is it realistic in the current market?
18.
Just get a 2EQ non-Classic. You can get a Black, Red or Blue without a hardcase for under £1k new, (padded gig bag). My 2EQ was a bit more as it's a more expensive colour plus a hardcase....very nice huge fat tone. A HH will give you the option for a big fat neck H tone
i used to know the link for those black and red ones, what is it again?
19. ....as I don't want to bore people. But am seeking the lowdown on mid 80's Rays - I guess the EBMM era, not so much pre-EBMM. I used to have a 2008 Stingray which was cool, shouldn't have sold it, but are the 80's Rays very different in sound to the modern Ray, are they noticably more 'vintage' in their sound, in the way a 60's Fender P has a diff sound to a 2010 P and so on...?
20. put me off playing it tho - you could see it from a distance!
21. oops, in wrong section, sorry mods, p lease move
22. ...was having a mooch this morning and had a look at the above bass - reminded me of Musicman20 on here mentioning neck pocket gaps on the new Classic range - couldn't believe my eyes - the thing's hanging there for nearly £1700 and you could get a square full of Egyptian protestors in the gap with room to spare!!
23. sale only, sorry, but thanks
