1. anyone mentioned Ibanez yet? Get an early Blazer bass - very affecting P bass sounds. Mine's 1981. Original case, imported from the US, would NEVER sell.
2. ....altho the bass player in Friendly Fires was playing an old Peavey T40
3. yes eric - looks nice -any guide on its value? also, bet that single pup does the biz?
4. I reckon something like Adele or Duffy - nice groove driven soulful stuff - only cos the stuff we play is always so loud!!
5. Won this on e-bay, sort of inadvertantly. Cost me £330 - it's yours for £320 Fab condition Korean made 2006 - double action legendary MFD pick ups - amazing sound, amazing power and sweet maple fingerboard. A few un-photographable scuffs right on top of headstock, otherwise great condition. I've owned a USA made L2000 and then this, and there seems hardly any distinguishable difference. The L2000's made in the Far East, of which this is one, are fitted with all US parts and play brilliantly. 3 toggles: pre-amp treble boost/pre-amp/passive option series/parallel pick up selector 3 knobs: Bass boost/cut Treble boost/cut Volume PICTURES BELOW http://www.flickr.com/photos/49793253@N07/...57626641107131/ Check my excellent feedback
6. Excellent player and condition. Great example of Lakland's budget range - the neck is amazing, smooth and fast, well fretted, with a pre-amp that offers bass/middle/treble - all boost and cut Also has pull out on the master vol to switch to passive mode. Bartolini pe amp 2 Bart MK1 pick ups 2003, Korean built Photos below. 8.
Wouldn't you believe it but the day I send this bass off to Australia I get a PM asking whether it has sold - winging it's way off to a user from the Warwick site as I write this...a beautiful bass which may never be seen on these shores again...Bye Bye Philippa...
good luck with the shipping!
9. MY OCD IS BEGGING YOU TO CORRECT THE TITLE 'WANDERING' ? 'WONDERING'
10. no answer to my previous post?
11. hey so what sort of money are you actually expecting for this as a straight sale? it's not entirely clear
12. may have been said already further up, but the depreciation of something is always a killer - I think there are few benefits tbh -can get gear on here that's used but immaculate
13. what bass did you play! can't believe you left that bit of info out!!
14. yup, been round this block a few times - so DENSE on information!! Ta
15. Was browsing the for sale and saw there's two mid 80's L2000's - which got me thinking, is there any discernable difference in the sound of these to their later mid 90's US counterparts, or indeed to something like the Tributes? G&L say all the same parts are used on Tribs as on US models, and I've owned both, and there does seem to be a consistency of sound there - so would a pre BBE, mid 80's, be discernably, a LOT different? I'm thinking of Fender examples - like a classic pre-CBS P doesn't sound like a mid 90's P standard
16. still for sale - open to sensible offers
17. I'm registered with a band/gig directory, and this came through today. Not the sort of thing my band could do, but was wondering if it suited anyone on here. Message reads: "Me & my partner are getting married & are looking for a great band to help us celebrate our special day. Saturday 25th June 2011 A good mix of party songs as we want everyone to dance all night. The party will commence around 7.30pm and will be in the Sutton Coldfield area. please contact Steve on 07545 975501 or e mail [email protected]"
18. I'd end up buying this If I didn't have the same they're A1 basses not boring, not plain. They BUMP and grind They'll do the job right You'll gig with pleasure almost every night Someone buy it!!
19.
Hmmm.... well paid and local. Why not just go in with the slightly mercenary attitude that you're only deping for the one gig and see where it leads from there?
+1 to this - let them understand you're doing them a favour - almost to the point that if they (hopefully) ask can you do the next gig after this one, make em wait a day before you agree to it!!
20. why would you want to do this?
21. enjoyed the Jethro Tull-esque flute well done to you and the band
22. mine's exact same and 1981 and in my sig - main gigger right now - if this was a diff colour I'd have it!
