Am I to understand that a Markbass LM800, run with no effects, no compressor (I never use either) all EQ points noon, VLE/VLF (whatever they call them) off, that the maximum average ? I'm achieving is around 80 watts?

    Nah, had about enough Tom. 3 buyers gone awol. 14 basses offered in trade (no RW Jazzes ). 3 cabs offered that I didn't want. Just easier to keep it.

    Anybody use foam underneath an amp head? Like many I normally use trusty Halford's car dash non slip matting to keep a micro amp in place. I've noticed that my LM 800 seems to bounce a bit more than most (whadya mean turn it down ) Anyway, I got to thinking, long term, that amount of vibration can't do it much good. So, I'm thinking of getting some 1/8 inch foam and cutting it down to just more than the area covered by the feet of the head. Daft? Worrying about nowt? Thoughts folks? Cheers, Karl.

    Sorry, I can't answer that truthfully. It should sound vintage through valve amp, ceramic with flats. It should sound modern through digital, neo with rounds. Even these are massive generalisations depending on technique, equipment, effects, EQ settings. This is the pick up that was in American Standards before they started using "custom shop" pick ups as standard in 2012.

    Good condition but some paint chips and scuffs, Indonesian Oct 2013. 800 watts @ 4ohms Comes with Markbass gigbag (£50 new) that can stay on when amp is in use. Also Markbass bass keeper (£20 new). Whole package new around £690. £400 collected from Wigan, £425 including mainland UK courier. Only up whilst the GB Streamliner 900 (my preferred amp) is still available. Apologies for photos, inevitably as soon as I stepped outside it started raining. I piggin' hate Wigan!     I ordered a Fender Tweed case from Bax a year or so back. Decent price, £115 at the time. Took over 2 weeks to get to me, repeated emails to them and they couldn't have given a monkey's wang. Never again.

    The next bit of joy from all this is used 2005 Standard Precisions on FEEBay at £1100 (well they're £1500 new now guv ). They can bloody well keep 'em. I only gig my 2 rather special Mex's, so Fender, think I'm out now.
