1. I'm the same as Gary, even though my 2 Markbass 210p Travelers are up for sale. The only reason for that is eyeball lust for Dusty's Purple Chili rig. The vertical 2 x 210's really does work great with a tiny stage footprint to boot. Sadly more room for gaytartists
2. Well Chris, I have the same neck, but with jazz nut/profile being made by Warmoth. About another 5 weeks before it's finished, then I'll be putting the original P nut width/profile up for sale. Have a bump for asking Good luck with this amazing bass. Bump.
3. Thought most of these were P/J s ?
4. Forgot to add this from Saturday night, just to show that despite it's excellent condition, it gets gigged. German engineered and made, 3LB in weight, powerhouse of an amp A year ago this wouldn't have been up for more than a couple of days, even at a higher price. Sorry, camera phone picture
5. Don't worry about perfect fit, get a padded laptop bag, with front pocket (for cables) from Tesco for £15. Worked for me for the last three years. Good luck, Karl.
6. Lovely. I recently bought a bass off Chris and to be honest, he was exceptional to deal with. Good luck with this stunning bass Chris. Doubt you will need it.
7. Many thanks Patch, hope you are ok. Now, as Patch said, things do change. I had a few enquiries from Europe when I first put this up. I said sorry but no, as I was up against a tight time schedule. That is no longer the case. I will now ship to Europe, but any buyer from Europe will need to arrange their own courier, and pay for it. Cheers, Karl.
8. REDUCED!!! £40 collected from Wigan. An extra £10 couriered mainland UK. A year old, almost immaculate and less than 1/3 of new price. Surely somebody wants keys to write on?
9. I got two Roqsolid's made for my two Traveller 210P's. Cost slightly less than this one, for the pair, delivered. Mind MB are not the only ones to charge daft for the pretty advertising on own label covers.
10. No surprise really Mark. There are stories of good bad and indifferent of all Fender manufacturing plants. I gigged this for last night's 2.5 hour shenanigans and thoroughly enjoyed using it. Light, great sounding pup and just so playable. I STILL kept looking forlornly at the Road Worn jazz sat on it's stand, but that's the price to pay when you have 3 wonderful playable basses
11. Superb hand made kit and a top bloke. Orange Bass Terror users please note. One of these cabs would be most excellent with your amp head. Set it to 8 ohms at the back and get your full 500 watts. And exterminate a guitard GLWTS Dusty, all the best
12. £325 +£15 courier for each cab (mainland UK ) Both made in Italy. 400 watts 8 ohms approx. 15kgs both with tweeters both with Roqsolid covers both in excellent condition, a bit over two years old. Will courier but UK only I'm afraid. £325 each, plus £15 courier each. Cash on collection or cleared bank transfer. I KNOW YOU CAN BUY a new Made in Indonesia for a bit less than £400, feel free to do so. These were over £660 each, new. If they don't go relatively quickly, I will remove, as I have a gap of three weeks in gigs due to a guitar on hol. I need to replace them. WOULD TRADE with an excellent condition Barefaced S12V. Any questions, or trial in Wigan. Feedback at bottom of post, cheers, Karl. 13. It's all a bit as discreet says really. I got to the stage where I only wanted to gig my FSR. One gig, a punter came up and said that bass was like an extension of my arm. I chose not to take that as I was a knuckle scraper! Then along came the Road Worn. I'd had an itch to try one EVEN though they are the hated rosewood. Ya know what??? I get upset putting it down . To a great extent, all the others are just to fill the rack in my back room now (cue discreet smut)
14. Hiya Tom, hope you are ok fella. Get yourself into a local shop in Boro or Newcastle (Sounds Live may have one ) and try out a Dee Dee Ramone Precision. All the right spec and mine is light at just over 8lbs. Alternatively fella, if you can't find one, pay the courier and you can try my new one for a week or two, I know you will treat it right. STUNNING bass that ACG. GLWTS and look after yourself
15. Many thanks chaps. I've hit the daft problem that I now have three fabulous basses to gig. I've done the Alembic, Rick, Custom Shop, SEI and others, yet these three fabulous, playable, giggable basses are all Mexican Fenders. My Cabronita will also become the same when the new jazz dimension neck arrives from Warmoth (eventually). So, guess I will just have to rotate gigs with them, but tbh, I would happily just use the Road Worn every gig. Yet I do't get on with Rosewood boards
16. No interest? I thought this was dead cheap, way under half price and virtually unused. Kinda good for writing stuff on
17. Forgot to update this. Gigged it last weekend. Will do so again this weekend. Good bits. Very light! Lovely 41.6mm nut width, quite shallow neck, very comfortable and satiny feel. Pick up has all the tonal variation you would expect from a P. Does the 'Arry bit particularly well. Very well finished, well set up out of the box, although I've inevitably tweaked it a little. A great looking P, imo. Bad bits. Pick up has good tonal flexibilities, but not as powerful as I would have hoped. Had to crank the amp a touch more than normal. Not that that was a problem. Overall, my humble opinion, a good P bass with that 70's look about it, at a decent price. Eminently giggable anywhere
18.
the amp and cabs will try to produce frequencies even lower than 30hz that you'll never actually hear too, which wastes a lot of power and gets the speakers moving more than they really need to which might be contributing to the farting out... The SFX Thumpinator is supposed to help with this. I've not got mine yet so I can't comment from experience, but it might be worth trying one!
Look forward to comments on the [s]wife[/s] Thumpinator To be honest, the farting out is very rare, just an occasional room, and it's very quickly eq'd out.
19. You are about 40 miles from me in Wigan. If you want to try out a PUMA, (only a 500, but there's only 3Db between them), put your cabs in the car and I'll get the kettle on!
20. Thanks guys. My Puma 500 goes through 2 x 8ohm Markbass 210 Travelers. Generally I actually need to cut the bass rotary back to about 11 o'clock the speakers tend to get a little close to farting out. Sometimes I have to cut the lo mids fractionally as well. I use a GRAMMA pad, only use passive basses, finger style, but I can get a little heavy handed. I just got to thinking, the amp's bass rotary is set to 30hz, but the cabs are 40 hz and I didn't know how that would work. Thanks for all the input guys, appreciated. Cheers, Karl.
21. Casio CTK-3200 for sale, a little over 1 year old. Comes with power lead, songbook and manual. Excellent condition, couple of tiny scrapes that won't photograph. The cheapest new I can find is £139 HOWEVER, they come with headphones and stand. They were that good I chucked them, so this one does not have headphone or stand included, hence much cheapness. Much prefer collection from Wigan but will courier for an extra £10. Payment by cleared bank transfer or cash on collection please. Feedback at bottom of thread. Note to self, stick to 4 strings Cheers, Karl. 22. Thanks Clem. Quite a lot of us, who have been here a long time, and are self professed gear whores, will bump an advert, with just "PM'd." It bumps the ad, but also lets folk that are thinking about it, know there is other interest.
23. Brilliant dincz, thanks very much for that . Great explanation for a dummy like me. Cheers dude
24.
Yeah we've been working with the member to try and help resolve the issue. Investigations and police intervention is ongoing. Worth reiterating again the FAQ when buying and selling. Not always possible, but worth bearing these in mind when carrying out a deal. Thankfully instances of this type are very unusual but we do get involved and help as much as we can. Cheers ped ---- Guidelines for BUYERS 1. Make sure you exchange contact details with the seller. Get as much as you can – phone number, address, email and full name are essential. Be vigilant of members not offering any details other than their username. 2. If in doubt about a seller's credibility, search the 'feedback forum' to see if they have sold before. Do not accept evidence of eBay feedback as there is no way of proving this is the same person. 3. Have a good look at the member who you are buying from. View their 'profile' to find out how often they are on the forum, how many posts they have made and how long they have been a member. Be extra careful of brand new members with few posts. 4. If you have a concern with the authenticity/originality/provenance/description etc of an item for sale, do not comment on the seller's thread as these comments will be removed by a moderator. If you believe an item to be fraudulent then please PM a moderator and we will do our best to arbitrate - otherwise simply move along. 5. If you believe the price of the item is too cheap/expensive, then please PM the seller as to why. Do not ridicule or undermine the seller by posting how much you think it's worth or how much it can be gotten for elsewhere, the laws of supply and demand will determine if the item sells at that price. 6. Always view the item if possible. At the very least request decent photographs.
PED, I only live 6 or 7 miles from the business address. If I can be of any help please let me know. Cheers, Karl.
