1. Great bass, great geezer, get it bought. I thangu
2. It seems, Isabass lives in Nice, France, but shipping appears to be included. As this has the large logo and original copy headstock, that the bass was made between very late 70's and 1984. Sources say the headstock and logo changed in 1985 after Fender rightly said enough. These basses appear to have a terrific reputation.
3.
What is 'The Toon' and why was it in danger of falling down? It is too heavy damn shame!
Newcastle United and if you'd seen our defence you wouldn't have needed to ask I knew you need basses under 8lb in weight Tom this doesn't quite get there. All PM's replied thank you. Lloyd, especially tempting but I must stay on the chosen route
4. Quite light at 8lb 5oz Tom, me owld apfel strudel, however, that is over the weight that you need sadly. On the positive side, The Toon stayed up, so all is well (whadya mean I'm a selfish git ).
5. FWIW Dave, I think the price is very fair and although I'm ecstatic with the sound of my 2 MB Traveler 102p's, I would still flog them to raise some of the funds for these. Only reason I haven't put them back up is because frankly I was pissed about for Britain with them and I just can't face putting them up for sale again. They were sold twice and neither person turned up. Yours are tremendous lightweight, accurate, powerful quality cabs. If you aren't desperate for the money, just keep bumping occasionally. GLWTS
6. If they ain't high resolution Fabulous bass. Fabulous photos. Fabulous advert. Wonder if I could tempt you with next door's 20 year old 1st born ? GLWTS
7. Now 8 weeks old, as new, includes deluxe gigbag and unopened booklet/poster. This bass gets the least use so up for sale. Specs in link, £550 collected from Wigan, or please organise/pay for your own courier. Just let me know what day they are coming http://www.gak.co.uk...CFaoBwwodEpYAJg Cheers, Karl. 8. Just over £100 new back in the day. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231567949287?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
9. Thanks guys. No doubt those of you with interest/knowledge of this stuff, are aware of the following link, but I will share it anyway. From the splendid Mr Foxen http://www.vintagehofner.co.uk/britamps/restof.html
10. A few months back, I bought my amazing Road Worn Jazz from Mark. Whilst I was enjoying his hospitality, he let me play this bass. It's looks are simply stunning. It is also, the best, bar none, Precision I have played in 40 years. I really wish I could raise the funds for this, but I can't. Somebody is going to be very lucky and get probably the finest Fender of any type that I have had the pleasure of playing. Mark is a top guy as well. Good luck with the sale my friend, I'm guessing it is reluctant.
11. Thank God for that! Temptation and lust defeated
12. Fabulous looking bass Chris. I hope you don't mind, but I have put this up on the Yamaha Attitude Facebook page. Billy's "The Wife" bass was quite close to this, so just in case any of them fancy a project. If you would like it removing, just let me know. Great looking bass with an awful lot going for it, especially at that price. Must resist
13. Trades you say eh , you're a very naughty boy, tempting us Best I could offer is an immaculate, as new, Dee Dee Ramone P, about 6 weeks old, plus £100. I don't use it but a man needs a white P Have a bump.
14. From sound guy, "surprisingly state of the art , 2 x 12A7, 1 x EL84, 1 x EZ80. 1 x ELAC 8x5 speaker with input transformer. Tone,Volume,Beat,Speed Controls. (Tremelo like effect). The valves in it, are the basis of many modern amps, they we only designed 5 years before this Heath Robinson. Might be an early Watkins Westminister who started in 1951? Only thing inside is the the date 2nd March 1951. Serial Number 1141. 240V AC."
15. Ok, final go, £30 collected or £40 couriered mainland UK. Still less than some strings
16. Thanks guys. As predicted no rapid response from sound guy Dansette was a word that sprung into my tiny brain.
17. Cheers Mykesbass, will try him on ******fakers.
18.
Why do the amp experts have to be so old?
No whippersnappers should have the knowledge . I thought about editing the title then thought CBA. I will ask our beloved soundman for more details. I hope I have the life expectancy to get a reply.
19. Slightly against the flow here. I had a lovely Sea Foam Green Limelight 64 tribute made for me. It was exceptionally good, but for whatever intangible reason, it just wasn't "the one". I managed to get a used Mex Fender Roadworn Jazz in Fiesta Red and it really is exceptional. It even replaced my FSR as no. 1 gig bass, and that took some doing. So, perhaps one of them is worth trying?
20. Our sound guy has put an appeal up to identify this purported 1951 amp. Any ideas will be gratefully passed on to him. Cheers in advance (ps if you know what it is, well, I thought I was sad ) Karl. 21. There is also bass bin north east and I know there is a south east based F/B page but I left that one because of a couple of know it all smart arse, last word, it's worth this much mate type of knob heads. If you courier it obviously doesn't matter what region you advertise in.
22. Delivered, £67 vat and import duties paid in cash. Jeez, I'm such a worry wort Thanks for everything guys, cheers, Karl.
23. No use to you I'm afraid, because of price, but I got a TTE and gigged it for the first time last Sunday. It was frankly sensational. And loud. Very loud. Two Blackstar wielding guitards, mic'd up drummer, rock, and I had the master on 7 0'clock , gain at about 1 o'clock for much tubey goodness. Warm and punchy. All 3 of the band turned round after the 1st number and chorused "that is 'kin awesome". They don't normally say hello until the second set I had my two cabs up for sale and withdrew them as soon as I got home I read on Talkbass that stats for Markbass failures showed to be less than 1 %, but obviously for the poor buggers in that 1% it is a big deal.
