1.
I use a Zoom as well. Connecting with the pc using usb and recording using audacity. The only prob l have is I find I don't have any sound output when recording. So I'm playing acoustically. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
I found audacity a real PITA when trying to get it to talk to the interface and back , In reaper it seems to work sweet , but everything also appears to be simpler with a dedicated interface somehow , I guess its the fact it is purely made to do 1 job IYSWIM .
2. Reaper for me , my zoom pedals have a usb output aswell so I could record stuff through that before I got a proper interface .
3. Fantastic stories, its great when things like that happen
4.
I once had a 5000W rig. Powered by a Yamaha P5000S power amp. The cabs wouldn't have survived if I'd turned it up though.
I have always thought the Yamaha product names a bit odd in this regard , a P5000S is rated at 500W/channel into 8 ohm cabs , it might not have scared the cabs as much as you thought it would
5. I drove past on my way to Macc for a family party and saw the signs , I tried to google the details , but got no signal .
6. I bought from Mark , I knew what I wanted and needed a retailer to order it for me, I was given 2 names from the importer and had a few ideas from the US , Mark responded straight away , we agreed the price and he always answered emails and phone calls very promptly. In fact the price was well on par with the US import I had found, and the order had been placed a month before the other retailer bothered answering my initial enquiry . I do understand the potential frustration of tyre kickers to a retailer , but if you know your clients you can identify them fairly sharply , and while mistakes can be made , if those who place an order are looked after ,the business is a good one .
7.
"., and then aliens landed, which was unexpected, and..."
always expected , it was just the timing could have been better , what with the dog and the dinosaur and everything , still, the car passed the MOT , the wife got to see some shows , I sailed to the outer hebrides, the daughter made me queue for 2 hours to ride the smiler , I got pissed at the palace of westminster , I got the hedges cut , got singing lessons for Lurksalittle ( hopefully that one should eventually score some points on this topic ) just enough sunburn , a photo for the august comp, and got back to work to face the inevitable, now settled in again , should just about get the mix comp done ready to get some time in for septembers composition, start the prep for the 'studio refurb' ( redecorate the playroom ) .....and breathe , its been a good summer . Hope you get control of your workload Paul , good luck
8. I dont tend to respond to these threads because there is so much subjectivity that you never learn anything about the topic only peoples opinions. In general the human condition wants to improve and get better and maybe our guitars are a function of that , but sometimes it is the constant marketing bullshit that goes with everything that leads us that way. The grass my friends is always greener ............until you decide that your own grass does just fine thanks , and further more you are not really bothered what anyone else thinks of it

11. Sorry guys , that was way too daunting for me , It takes me all month to get set to one picture for a 3minute knock up , this was well beyond my writing, playing, recording and video editing skills, and I was away from home for 2 weeks of the month aswell . But I will have a good listen to the entries when the voting goes up .
12.
Wow, very good indeed.
wow, wow, very good, wow, very good, very good indeed. wow, very good, very good indeed, but a bit samey. wow, very good, very good indeed, but a bit samey, OK though , wow, very good, very good indeed, but a bit samey, OK though , for 1 song . to develop Daves idea a little but for a song yes great , but the songs need to do something or go somewhere , and it just ends up like showing off and gets very repetitive after 4 songs of the same stuff .
13.
Not really a bass thing, but one use of a looper that's always stuck in my mind was K T Tunstall's debut on Jools' show with 'Black Horse & The Cerry Tree' a few years ago. Pretty effective IMO.
That is pretty much what I saw this guy do , its ok for 1 song but for every time it just seemed he needed a band with him .
14. I was at a carboot sale this morning and saw a 'swift' bass , it was offered at £60 I knew not of the brand and passed on the deal but I thought it was for nothing .........until I googled it and found they are only £50 new
15. As an aside , I was watching a great evening of bands tonight and was recognised as playing a beer festival last year , I think the 'beer' part of the festival probably accounted for a bit of that though.
16. Rob, Ive seen your stuff and its great , but on a stage it just seems a bit odd to see an act build his part by playing in all the other parts first, rather than have his band mates do their bit . yes its a skill , but it rather eliminates the people skills that are needed to actually have a band .
17. Are they for performers with no mates ? Just watching a cool dude , but it just that there are at least three jobs going begging , are loopers the ultimate live bedroom players kit ?
18. I would like to offer a review of last nights offering in Crewe , but I didn't get any of the free sex that was promised and while Pete and (Bassman) Sam are great company, a gig broke out A great show Pete , really top draw musicianship , quality sound delivery and myself and Sam were very impresssed with the backing singers moves , especially when she was jumping up and down whilst hitting the cowbell on my old school It was great to meet you and Sam and I will definitely be along to another show at some point .
19. I missed that sorry , I thought I was following the thread , I am in Chester ,
20. Absolutely , But I am really trying to get the band to compliment the vocals and the harmonies IYSWIM , they stand up all on their own and getting the detail to come through will take some doing
21. Those vocal tracks are beautiful , I could ditch the rest of it and go acapella just so that you can pick the detail , I think I have a new plan
22.
There isn't any. It was a cynical advertising ploy.
Well bugger me
23. I reckon we could do that , are you going to wear the pink carnation or should I
24. I think you find I'm Spartacus as it happens Top story Debs I think 72 in the charts puts you top of the tree in the recognition stakes........................ So far
25. Ok I'll bite , are you a steeleye span tribute ? .... I'll do my best to call in
