1. Cor... not normally a fan of the birds but that is amazing! Look at that board! Oh my! Bloody good job Muzz.
2. I took the pickguard off my jazz and fell into a coma.
3.
Keep the mint guard and refin the body lake placid blue.
No... sonic blue!
4. Yes... I get your drift. I tend to eq my amp flat across the board, especially if It's the backline rig for the night. I can dial in an almost unlimited range of sounds from the J-Retro. I usually go for an almost sub bass noise type thing.
5. Yes... since fitting the dm's it's always been a bit on the quiet side... I didn't fit them meself. It's crunchingly loud through the J-Retro however.
6. Ah... I've tried this... I have a 62 Jazz defretted and J-Retroed with DiMazio model J's... went back to passive, lost all my bottom end. Passive just didn't have any balls to it... I've lost the stock pups but I can't see them making a huge difference ie better than the DiMazio's. Keeping it active now and using my P basses for awkward sound situations.
7. Go into any music store and ask them to remove the scratchplate so you could have a butchers and they would just laugh in your face... they just don't get it anymore... like fender.
8. I first saw that routing on an expensive RI and thought WTF? I really don't know why fender do that on these. The CV Squier has the same... pity.
9. Fenders eh?... expensive mass produced bolt on bits and pieces.
10. OMG Ramesh... etcetera. Bloody brilliant. Love P's and RS66's.
11. How are you getting on with it?
12. Looks cool with the covers... I have them on mine too... Your covers aren't P Bass covers though.
13. Well... that's interesting. Sounds a hell of a price for a standard AVRI to my ears. Those bridge saddles would still bother me too. Sounds like they were doing a bit of wool pulling...
14. Where's my piccy? Hang on... I'm carp.
15.
I'm just going from what I read on talkbass the other day.
Linkie?... I can't find it.
16. Interesting... too radical for my tastes though. Never been keen on the BA type bridge either.
17. Hey Rob... congrats on your new/old Jazz Bass... I likey the one piece scratch-control plates. I would be tempted to put on some Jazz style knobs, not keen on the strat types. Are those DiMarzio model J's on there... I have them on mine and they sound great, although I've pre-amped mine with a J-Retro. Lovely looking bass... More piccies please. Off topic... did you watch the CLT20?
18. Ooh... price is a bit tops... I'd pass and get a 62RI with stacks new for half the price. I am a tight git though.
19. Looks bloody superb... the saddles bother me a bit though. Depending on how much is left on the truss you may need to shim the neck... hmmm. As to price.. I'll pass on that.
20. Very interesting from two of my all time favourite players.... What did you make of the Jazz?
