  1. Yes... the AGC is the J-Retro but different. They're both by Mr East. I'd go for sound over simplicity and in my experience the J-Retro is just AWESOME! I really can't praise it up enough. It's made such a difference to my sound and the way I play (for the better, obviously). I've not tried any of the others and don't feel I need to now.
  2. I fitted a J-Retro in my Jazz... it's awesome, especially low end. Turned it into a pure bass machine. Controls are complicated (compared to original setup!) but it's just fantastic! It's very powerful though and there is a significant vol increase on switch-on, I've busted a couple of speakers in my Ashdown with it. It's also very well made. Can't comment on the Audere although a friend of mine has one and he couldn't get on with it at all. It's fretless and just perfect for Drum&Bass!
  3. Cor! Congrats... looking forward to the piccys.
  4. heh... to be honest... there was nothing wrong with it... I know these can be a bit of a gamble... superb neck... action was a bit low and intonation was a bit out... but I'm damn happy with it! A little setting up and good to go! Tuners (I like to call them machine heads... were a tad loose so I swapped them out with Wilkos... lock solid.) I got the covers from Allparts... cheap. Normally a fretless guy, but this is a peach! £350 all in. Not bad IMO! Arrgh... going on now... I thought I might have to swap out the pups... but no! They are amazing.. fender p growl an all... in the studio, the engineer (P Bass man) said it was the quietest P ever... I'll keep it as is I reckon! I like to see some hardware on the backside... I can't abide these lightwieght machines... no mojo! I love the pearl scratchplate...

    Fretless

I've been using rounds on my fretlesses for thirty-ish years no probs... RS66's are my favourite.
  6. Hello skips... my first post here... Modded MiM 2002 P Bass that I bought off the bay a couple of years ago (I needed a passive bass for some outdoor gigs) Cheers!
