  1. I love my p bass but I haven't gigged it for nearly three years! I think it's those metal speed bumps on the neck thingie that puts me off.
  2. I had an Aria SB1000 fretless... damn fine instrument. Sold it to someone here, it went straight to a shop I think. Squier VM Jazz fretless is very nice and a good price too.
  3. Ah yes... I have an east in my jazz... hooray for the brits! I reckon a ray is technically a fender btw.
  4. Okay fellas... well... I had a brit... once!
  5. We all bought fenders... didn't we?
  6. I had a Shergold Modulator that I bought from Taphouses in Oxford... man I loved that bass. I bought it on HP over two years... It was nicked after our second gig.
  7. I've seen them at allparts uk... not cheap at around £40. Would like vintage red for my p... the brown is too busy.
  8. I'm a fan of tort on burst, the black does look good though.
  9. I got a superb MIM P off the bay... £250.
  10. Squier CV Jazz... very comfy.
  11. That's superb... really has the vintage vibe... like the old style machines.
  12. Yes... I think the squared off covers (60s) were rounded off in the seventies sometime... documentation is hard to find on this though. I have the rounded covers on my 2002 P bass.
  13. Here's the linkie for the allparts plate... http://www.allparts.uk.com/online-shop/guitar-bass-parts/bridges-parts-tailpieces/bridge-parts/metal-bridge-pickup-covers/pickup-cover-for-p-bass-p-3084.html Bob.
  14. No it aint... I managed to get a vintage squared off one for my Squier from allparts... about 20 notes.
  15. Freedom... I gig mine in a Drum&Bass/dance scenerio... I couldn't imagine going back to fretted, although I've just reacquired my old Silver Series P which I really want to try out. I may have to defret first though. Ed is a fine bass player too btw.
  16. At last... back from my son who had 'borrowed' it for a few years. My wife bought this bass for me back in 1992 and I only gigged it a couple of times, then it went to a studio for a time. Anyways... I have it back. Gave it a bit of a clean, slapped on some jewellery. Piccies... The neck is lovely... a tad wider than my fretless 62 Jazz but slimmer than my 'real' P bass. Might defret... neck seems perfect for that. Maybe a vintage red tort plate later.
  17. Here... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231002137559?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  18. Yawn. soz but...zzzzzzzzzz
  19. Wow! Superb... stiff tuners are a plus.
  20. I have to agree that the J-Retro/fretless combo is a killer.
